KFAR JEWISH ARTS CENTER

Over the past decade, KFAR has brought progressive Jewish bands to the Jewish mainstream..... From my experience, these concerts have brought together all streams of Judaism----IE--it's very common to see Orthodox attending concerts along with Reformed or even Renewal folks. Overall, KFAR is a great organization!

KFAR has brought a surprising variety of Jewish music programs to the Chicago area and made them interesting and accessible to both Jews and non-Jews. For example: The recent presentation, in the (gentile Polish) Chopin Teatre, of Daniel Kahn's Berlin-style strongly social-commentary cabaret group was extremely effective; the overflow crowd experienced the real feel of intellectual/political activism intensity! Then the next KFAR show was the super-contemporary Israeli club act Soulico.
