Keshet does amazing work in providing resources and training for enabling synagogues and community groups to be welcoming and supportive for LGBT participants. I have found Keshet to be a warm and welcoming community in Boston and a great way to meet other LGBT Jews. I have had the opportunity to participate in Shabbat celebrations and in learning opportunities and have enjoyed attending and volunteering at the Cabaret fundraiser for several years. The Keshet staff and volunteers are fantastic and truly dedicated to the organization.

Seldom do you see an organization that models the very values it teaches -- empathy, compassion, tolerance and respect. Keshet has taught us all to be more accepting of ourselves and others. It has given a home and a voice to so many LGBTQ community members who felt displaced, misunderstood, and powerless. It is no wonder that Keshet has become a leading change agent in the Jewish community and beyond.

Keshet is an amazing organization on account of its passionate, thoughtful, dedicated, and innovative staff. The staff's, donors' and program participants' ability to connect to Keshet's mission and to implement real change and inclusiveness in Jewish communities of all denominations and throughout the country has transformed Keshet from an idea of a few people just over 10 years ago to a thriving national organization. I am honored to be a part of it.

Keshet does great works for the GLBTQ community and does wonders for advocacy among the Jewish community. I believe with things like GLBTQ outreach, it needs to be done at a more personal, intimate level, and I think working through the Jewish community is exactly the approach that's needed. They do so many things with so little resources it's absolutely amazing.

Keshet leads the way in the next generation of smart, highly connected, impactful work. If you're someone who wants to claim your full identity -- both Jewish and queer -- Keshet provides the resources and connections to make this happen. And the space being created in the "mainstream" Jewish community for GLBT inclusion and celebration is impressive. Thanks, Keshet

Keshet has been an incredible resource to me as an educator and supporter of young Jewish people. It ha s helped me work with teachers and teens to create a more just, inclusive, and vibrant community at my institution.

Keshet has grown over the past decade from a local community and advocacy group to become THE leading national go-to for Jewish agencies, synagogues, et al for resources and training to become inclusive. This credibility and reach has come through the strategic and thoughtful approach of a dynamic staff and volunteer base and is enabling Keshet to make remarkable strides in advancing a vision of a Jewish community that is truly inclusive and to, in the same breathe, protect and support all of our LGBT kids.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Help it to do more on the ground deep change work in more local communities.

Keshet is among the most effective non-profit organizations on the Jewish communal landscape for its clear mission and easily measured outcomes. If 10 years ago, few Jewish institutions were open and welcoming of LGBT Jews, today, a Jewish institution that does not consider LGBT Jews full and equal members is considered an outlier in need of transformation.

I loved Keshet when I was living in Boston because it let me participate in and then contribute to Jewish LGBT events. I wish it was national so that it could have reached me when I lived in Minneapolis and now that I am in Washington D.C. It has been wonderful to see it expand from Boston-only to Denver and now San Fran too! I hope to see Keshet continue to expandi the types of services it offers from social to advocacy to supportive, etc as it has been doing over the past many years.

Keshet is an amazing unique organization that makes me feel so welcome as a Jewish lesbian. I think the fact that my potential move to DC is being put off because I don't want to leave Keshet, is a testament to how strongly I feel about their mission, programming, and presence.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the multiple amazing programs they put on each month.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

do less color printing to save money. :)

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

growing to become part of the organization rather than just a participant.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

outgoing, friendly, and inclusive.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

develop more satellite chapters in other progressive cities and establish more of a national presence than it already hass.

Ways to make it better...

I were around more during the weekends to participate in more activities.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

?

One thing I'd also say is that...

Keshet is a wonderful organization whose membership and staff will hopefully grow throughout the years.

What Keshet has created is a must for anyone concerned about making each child feel safe to learn in all of our educational environments. This is not just about GLBT inclusivity – this is reframing the way we look at constructing educational spaces. Keshet’s training should be mandatory for every teacher, educator, counselor and youth worker in the Jewish community.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my work with the Addressing Evaded Issues in Jewish Education program at the Jewish Theological Seminary.
