I was a Donor & I am a donor and a volunteer and I go to every auction, every ice cream party - I wouldn't miss it!

When we got married, 36 years ago, it was a "hole in the wall" affair, Crown Heights had no organization that offered a hall, flowers, band, caterer. I was deliriously happy with my husband but bereft of all the simchas choson v kallah I'd dreamed about. Now, everytime I go to one of KSCVK's weddings, I think Hashem and the Benjamins for the proper setting for these 2 jewels.
The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... nothing else pulls the whole community together
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... the total love of giving - so many of us say "what's in it for me?" When we see the undiluted joy of KSCVK, the relief on the faces of the bubbys and zeidys, the joy of the choson & kallah, we all feel YOUNG again!
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... sensitive, calming, efficient, "to the point," caring
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... light a torch of Chesed that would illuminate the world
Ways to make it better!
- My experience would have been better if... I was Devora's sister - or mother!
- If I ran this organization, I would... Ask Devora for guidance
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... a economy being ruined by enough money in Washington
- One thing I'd also say is that... Moshiach Now!
We had limited funds and this was our first wedding. In addition the wedding was in Brooklyn, we live in Pittsburgh. We were very anxious, which is not the way one should celebrate one's child's wedding. After sitting with Devora Benjamin at breakfast, we came away feeling completely comfortable that we can do this with joy and bottom line be able to afford such a milestone event in our child's life. We have more children after this and feel confident that she will be there to help us then as well.

- I've seen the results of this organization in... all involved coming away with a good feeling that they got through it alive
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... we all feel respected
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... giving, non-judgmental
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... fund all that wealth into making this a more far-reaching organization possibly creating its own resources - One stop shop
Ways to make it better!
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... funding, the hearts are there. The pocketbooks are not.
Our community and beyond knows that KSCVK is there to offer advice support, practical help both monetarily and emotionally because they recognize the challenges one faces in planning a wedding. They care about every detail involved because they see each person who comes to them as individuals with their own unique needs.

- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... positive, upbeat, on the go, true to their word
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... expand to provide more services to their clients and serve a broader clientele.
Ways to make it better!
- If I ran this organization, I would... Delegate more volunteers to help be in charge of specific details
- One thing I'd also say is that... to have a separate person fund-raise so Devorah and volunteers can work without worrying about the finances.
So many young people need a proper start in married life and have no family support. KSCVK is like the most supportive family, mentor, and best friend rolled into one!
