The support and professional development I have received from the Kansas Association for Conservation and Environmental Education group has been outstanding!! They are on the cutting edge of helping our high school graduates become environmentally literate citizens. This is evidenced by our state having hundreds of certified Kansas Green Schools, two Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Education teacher award winners and several schools winners of the Green Ribbon Schools award from the national dept of education which could not have been possible had they not been the outstanding organization it is.

This has been a very rewarding and interesting experience working with KACEE. Their environmental education reaches across the State of Kansas for traditional and nontraditional environmental educators. I am taking a vast storage of information back to my students, as well as parents, that we can spread in our community.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my professional capacity as an educator.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

add more cultural and ethnic presence to the board composition.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the open, family type of environment to all educators.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

very helpful and competent (over the top) in their knowledge and expertise. They wanted to share as much information as possible.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the lives of every Kansan by educating the children, through our early childhoon programs.

Ways to make it better...

more nontraditional educators had chosen to attend.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding for their many types of programs.

One thing I'd also say is that...

KACEE is the model envirnmental organization that should be repeated and copied in every state.

attending conferences, helping with awards and workshops

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. The conferences are wonderful

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

fantastic!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

hire more staff and impact more students, teaching the importance of wildlife and habitat to all.

KACEE is a non-profit that takes the idea of non-baised and science based environmental education to heart. Having this resource in our state puts Kansas ahead of the rest!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Project WET and WET in the City as well as in the Annual Kansas Environmental Eductation Conference. I was involved in the creation of the Topeka Water Festival now in it's successful 9th year.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

I have enjoyed the networking opportunities and learning from a variety of individual members involved in the organization.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

KACEE's staff is well educated in the field of education and natrual resources and each staff person infuses energy into its programs.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

They would continue to spread the word regarding environmental eduction. It would also be wonderful if KACEE could purchase land to be able to be able to have workshops in a retreat setting.

I've been recycling for over 15 years. I work for the Kansas Forest Service and thru them have learned and promote the importance of planting trees to provide oxygen and cleaner air. I've been able to teach my grandchild, children and relatives the importance of recycling for the future of Mother Nature

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

learning different aspects of conservation. How to help promote conservation and recycling.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The effort KACEE membership puts towards the conservation and education to school groups. KACEE provides workshops for students, teachers, conservation districts, so they can learn how to promote conservation in their area of expertise.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

fantastic. Very friendly, knowledgeable and wanting to learn and get the most of out the conservation eduction for the protection of Kansas.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Really provide the needed workshops to training individuals; have more staff to cover the state, provide assistance to volunteers to help cover their expenses. Get more schools and individuals involved in conservation.

Ways to make it better...

My experience has been great. I've enjoyed learning and helping out KACEE for the past 20+ years

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Financial. Budget cuts have caused some of the reliable funding to be cut. KACEE needs sponsors to help support the financial aspects of promoting water needs, Project Learning Tree, Outdoor wildlife learning sites

One thing I'd also say is that...

KACEE promotes conservation and environmental education throughout the state of Kansas and they are becoming more known and requested. Funding is needed to help support the training KACEE provides.
