Interning at Jubilee USA has been an exciting new learning experience. During my time here, I have been able to learn how a non-profit functions, the significance of nonpartisan advocacy and the importance of connecting with grassroots organizations. Jubilee’s mission is to end unjust debt and transform the international financial system to benefit and ensure participation of the most vulnerable. It is absolutely remarkable how much Jubilee USA accomplishes. It is amazing to be part of an organization that is highly motivated and who are looking for real solutions to current international problems. I have been able to learn new aspects of international relations especially in regards to the relationship between economics and human rights. I highly recommend interning at this non-profit, especially if you are interested in international relations and ethics. It has been an enjoyable learning experience and has opened my eyes, not only to the beautiful city of Washington D.C., but also to learning new and interesting concepts.

The work Jubilee USA accomplishes is truly amazing. Working as an intern, I saw firsthand how Jubilee works closely with its faith communities, congregations and partner organizations to mobilize efforts to help the world’s poorest. Though staffing and funding is limited Jubilee has tackled some of the biggest international finance issues of our time including working to stop Vulture Funds and playing a crucial role in helping the IMF and World Bank develop a Fair and Transparent Arbitration Process (FTAP).
