I have been on the Board of JobTrain for about 7 years and I am always amazed and moved by the personal stories of the Graduates of the JobTrain programs. The Graduates consistently credit JobTrain and the amazing staff on providing the drive and motivation to both succeed in class and prepare for success post JobTrain.

I am honored to serve on the JobTrain Board. I am a basketball coach and JobTrain is a GREAT team to be part of! The team is led by Sharon Williams. She is surrounded by a caring staff and knowledgeable teachers. Success in the job market is about having a needed skill set. People that graduate from JobTrain are prepared to contribute to the economy with meaningful jobs. I know this first hand. When I wanted a party catered I hired a JobTrain graduate who had his own business of a food truck (Papa's Fusion). I knew he would be dependable and that the food would be delicious. (and it was!!!!) Join the JobTrain team by either graduating from one of the many outstanding programs, volunteering or contributing! Join a winning team, join JobTrain!

I support JobTrain because I strongly believe in the mission which is to provide quality and relevant job training for those in need in our community. It is a great feeling to be able to help those that are unemployed and are in need of current job skills to be able to land a job and change their lives. The stories of our graduates of how JobTrain has changed their lives is a daily testament to the importance of the JobTrain mission. When a JobTrain graduate rings the bell to as they land a job, the entire community wins!!

JobTrain strengthens our local economy by improving the job skills of its clients, who have made the commitment to improve themselves by enrolling in one of the great programs at JobTrain. The impact to the client is life-changing, and the entire community benefits as prevously unemployed individuals gain the job skills that they need to obtain employment and become productive members of the community.

I am the parent of two JobTrain graduates. JobTrain does not only teach vocational skills, but also leadership, responsibility and what it means to be a reliable employee. Everyone is welcome at JobTrain. I have been involved in many non-profit and community organizations, and I can say that JobTrain not only talks the talk, but walks the walk for sure. JobTrain genuinely changes lives for the better every single day!

JobTrain is a welcoming organization that meets people where they are without judgement and listens to where they want to go with their lives. Through assessment tools and counselors, JobTrain helps prospective trainees figure out what career choice is best and then provides them with the vocational training to get a well paying job. The secret sauce of JobTrain is providing the life skills and vocational training with the right mix of motivation to achieve 80% training completion and job placement rates. The staff is terrific as many of the student testimonials on this site and the JobTrain website attest. As we say at JobTrain, "We help those most in need succeed." JobTrain has been doing an outstanding job serving its clients for over 40 years--it's a great organization with proven results in which to invest!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the success of its students turning around their lives and becoming productive members of their family and community.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Seeing the joy and pride at the graduation ceremonies and hearing the bell ring in the lobby when a student gets a new job.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Talented, helpful, enthusiastic and positive.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Expand its vocational training programs into more areas like car mechanics, more health care professions, various additional construction trades, more information technology professions, etc.

Ways to make it better...

I am very fulfilled in my role as a Board member and also teacher at JobTrain.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Having sufficient resources to continue to expand our program offerings.

One thing I'd also say is that...

JobTrain Works!

The best way to experience the transformative power of JobTrain is to attend a graduation ceremony. Come and you will see dozens of folks stunned and thrilled to have completed the first step of the rest of their lives. JobTrain gives folks who have never had a first chance a second chance to enter society, be productive, and have a great life. They have been quietly doing so for decades and it is high time more people learn about this great organization.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The countless stories of folks who come from disastrous backgrounds only to be "saved" by JobTrain.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Seeing the difference it makes in people lives.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Dedicated volunteers, graduates who come back and want to give to the organization which changed their lives, ...

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Focus less on the yearly drudgery of raising operating funds and more on expanding programs and reaching more folks that desperately need a hand up.
