I came to JobTain to increase my computer skills so I could be more job marketable. It is such a warm and caring atmosphere. The staff here all seem to be very dedicated and enjoy their jobs. Its services goes beyond the actual computer classes. The have a clothes closet to find clothes for your interviews and a career closet they send you to where they have very high quality clothes to also help for interviews. They have mock interview training. Help with resumes. Life Skills training. Speakers from various companies. I could go on and on. This school is far more that I expected. I would recommend this school to anyone who wants to increase their skills in just about any field. It is all free. What more could you ask.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have seen changes in many peoples lives. I have seen growth in the people in the class. People get great jobs. I have made many friends that will continue after training is over. Classmates support each other. The support of each other is so great for some of us this is a hard road.

They hired a new receptionist. She is friendly and greets me. When I come in. I am glad because the other receptionist was not friendly and it was very hard to get a hello. I think there should be no smoking in the front of the building. It does not look very inviting when guests come or people driving by. It gives a wrong impression of what really goes on here at JobTrain.

I was dislocated from my job in March, 2008 and was in the real estate/mortgage lending industry. I have had a very hard time trying to transition into a new career. JobTrains has helped gain some much needed skills in order for me to hopefully obtain that. I am in the office skills class and learning how to use Microsoft applications. Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook. I am very pleased with the fact that I also didn't have to pay for these classes out of my own pocket. Being a single mother and out of work, it sometimes can be very difficult to make ends meet but JobTrains has definitely given me the advantage that I need in order to be successful in my career and not have to worry about the financial part. I have recommended JobTrains to two of my former coworkers and my daughter. They have all started going to classes here as well. JOBTRAINS IS WONDERFUL AND A GODSEND!!!!!!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the class that I am taking is helping me learn skills that I would normally have to pay for at any college. It gives me the opportunity to learn new skills to better myself and market myself that is more appealing to the job market.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Always helpful and friendly.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

move into a better building that is bigger

Ways to make it better...

so far everything is good. I can't complain.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

finding resources to keep the facility going.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I like the idea that women with young children can receive daycare here while learning a new trade.

In my past I have had problems with alcohol/drug abuse, I am currently in a program and I used to feel hopeless, like I had messed up my life and felt overwhelmed with trying to begin a new and improved life. I heard about Jobtrain and as I began the process to enrolling and attended orientation, I felt welcomed and I began to see hope and now I have realistic dreams that I know I can achieve. I like the class im in and its in an atmosphere that i do not feel uncomfortable asking questions, nor intimidated by others level or accomplishment. I can work at my own pace and each day when I leave I feel more and more confident about myself which is GREAT!

When I came here to JobTrain I honestly thought I wasn't going to stay here very long, becasue I'v never really liked school. However, that wasn't the case at all, I ended up really liking the people and environment. Whenever I needed help with anything, there was always somewhere there to answer my questions. This program has helped me out with all the things that I thought I would never be able to learn.

I think Jobtrain is an excellent community resource. My computer classes have been helpful in updating my skills before re-entering the job market. There are many students here who really need a lot of help and guidance. The options range from ESL classes, GED classes, Solar Paneling field, child care, iterview outfits from Career Closets, etc. My experience here has been terrific and the teachers and staff are very dedicated.

Excellent. I've completed all the programs in the electronics department (Computer Service, Telecommunications Installer, Telecommunications Technician, Wireless Networking, and Basic Electronic Theory). I feel comfortable here and that the staff are genuinely concerned with my success (the success of each and every student).
