My first year on board was three years ago. To be completely honest, the Foundation changed my life. I learned so much, made great friendships, and developed leadership skills and confidence that have had an enormous impact on my life ever since. Most importantly, I was able to have a huge impact on very real problems. I've never felt so empowered in my life.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

some of the most amazing people I've ever met. The people who lead these Foundations are 100% dedicated to youth and Tikkun Olam.

I have been involved with this organization in a variety of facets over the last 6 years. My daughter was a board member for several years, and quite simply put, the experience changed her life. And I, as a member of the Adult Advisory board, am always inspired by what these teens are able to accomplish. They are role models for us all.

I am currently on the North Peninsula Jewish Community Teen Foundation Board for my second year. I have met so many new people and learned countless new things about Jewish values, philanthropy, and the process of running a nonprofit. The experiences I have had on this board will stay with me for the rest of my life. It has brought me together with my Jewish peers and helped me develop my jewish identity. It is one of the most fun and fulfilling things I have ever done.

My daughter served on the teen foundation board last year and this year has the opportunity to serve on the leadership council. The Teen Foundation has enabled her to deepen her sense of philanthropy and directly taught her that a 14 year old teenager can make a difference in the world. The Teen Foundation empowers teens to take responsibility for healing the world. By delving deeply into social, economic, and health care issues they take away a sense of urgency to help others and an appreciation for how fortunate they are to live in an enriched environment. As young adult Jews, they are strengthening their bond to the larger Jewish community and heightening their potential for life long connections.

I was on the East Bay Board for 2 years, the first as a board member and the second as a member of the leadership committee. Being on the board was the most meaningful and life-changing thing I have done. It helped me figure out what is most important to me, and allowed me to be involved in my community and in the world in ways I would have never thought possible at my age. In addition, I met amazing people who I continue to stay in contact with. I highly recommend applying to be on one of the Teen Foundation boards.

I was on the board of the South Pen JCTF for one year. It was a real inspiration to me and it absolutely transformed my Jewish community experience. The organization is incredibly well-run and is so dedicated to ensuring that every member has a wonderful experience. Thank you, JCTF!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

incredible. Gilad Salmon and Sue Schwartzman are two of the most motivating and supportive leaders I've had the pleasure to work with.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand its ripple effect to reach even more people in need all over the world.
