Jewish Gateways is a terrific organization and Rabbi Bridget Wynne is a dynamo. Jewish Gateways fills a HUGE need in the Jewish community -- providing a way for those who are not traditionally connected to enter the community. I have found it immensely helpful as I've enjoyed the events as well as the class I'm taking thanks to Rabbi Bridget! Just a terrific organization.

Jewish Gateways serves a very important function in the Jewish Community of the Greater East Bay by reaching out to the unaffiliated in a warm, caring and non-conventional way. I have worked with Rabbi Bridget Wynne to create several partnered events for young Jewish families and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with her. She is creative, sensitive and professional and Jewish Gateways reflects those characteristics.

I direct an organization in Cincinnati that reaches out to Jews and their family members who are loosely connected or not connected at all to the Jewish community. Our work is has been very successful, and I would like to see similar efforts in other places. I was thrilled to discover Jewish Gateways and to speak with their director to learn from one another's work. The foundation with which I work also made a donation to Jewish Gateways because we are so impressed with what they are accomplishing.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

learning more about ways to help Jews and their family members discover Jewish tradition in an open-ended context.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

creative, professional, enthusiastic, open to sharing insights with other professionals.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

reach many more Jews and family members who I know, from my organization’s experience, are looking for ways to connect. And could help build a national network of organizations doing pluralistic Jewish outreach, which our community desperately needs.

Rabbi Bridget has been sharing her vision and intentions for Jewish Gateways with me since long before she founded this much-needed organization. From the beginning, I have been inspired and impressed by her remarkable level of commitment, integrity, clarity, understanding, brilliance, skills, and ability to put it all together to create and maintain a wonderful, welcoming gateway into Judaism and the Jewish community.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

hearing individuals who have been served by Jewish Gateways speak in such glowing terms of the support they received in their journey towards a deeper connection with Judaism and the Jewish community.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

reach out to the 100,000+ people in the Bay Area who would benefit greatly from its support, and create an outreach model that would allow organizations throughout the country and the world to benefit from Rabbi Bridget's brilliance and experience.

A great organization! Able to reach out to and engage Jews who yearn for some kind of Jewish experience and connection but do not feel comfortable entering any "establishment" Jewish institution.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I direct an organization that also connects Jews and their family members with Jewish life in innovative ways. In this work I see repeatedly how important it is for there to be many ways to explore and be part of Jewish experiences.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

The director has an extraordinary capacity to make all people feel welcome, understood and appreciated for who they are.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

1. Serve more of the many people- probably nearly 100,000 Jews in the local community who can't find comfortable ways to explore Jewish life. 2. Create a replicable model throughout the country

I am really glad that I have found Jewish Gateways. As someone who is a little fuzzy on my spiritual side, JGate has given me the opportunity to experience various topics from a Jewish perspective. These programs include topics that not only affect the spiritual but everyday life and perspective. I go when the topic peaks my interest - probably few times a year. I have even gone to high holidays services. It feels more personal and applicable to my life. Thank you rabbi Bridget.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

That it gives me a link to the Jewish community since I don't totally relate to being part of congregation at this time. I also like that children can be involved with adults but there is also space for them elsewhere if they want to go play.

All my friends were Jewish. My wife is Jewish. My mother-in-law lost everything in Austria,1939. After a lot of historical digging I found an official listing of my last name as Jewish. Great! For most of my life I have been wandering and wondering about my "jewishness". Am I? Were We? Can I? Are you sure? It was with the help of Rabbi Bridget Wynne and Jewish Gateways that I was encouraged to pursue my deep and abiding yearning to find a Jewish home for my soul. Without her constant creative, accepting, and supportive energy, I would still be yearning instead of DOING. Talk about a Mitzvah... Toda Reba!

I can't think of any at this small scale, the Rabbi is doing a great job with very limited resources.

With more money Jewish Gateways would be able to perform Jewish outreach on a more creative and grander scale. There are many afraid, angry, and questioning "Jews" out there.

Ways to make it better...

There would have been more people available to help us, not just the Rabbi.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Fund raising.

One thing I'd also say is that...

This organization needs all the help it can get.

As a rabbinic colleague, it is my pleasure to work closely with Rabbi Bridget & Jewish Gateways. She is non-judgmental, open and meets people where they are; and, true to Jewish Gateway's mission, actively matches individuals and families to synagogues, community programs and resources. Its a wonderful partnership!

We are a interfaith family looking for a way to include judaism into our family (we have two young children), while finding a religious community that feels comfortable to my secular Israeli spouse. We came upon JG on the recommendation of a friend and have been so far to two outstanding programs teaching Rosh Hashanah and Sukkot to preschoolers and their families. Prior to our attendance, we weren't sure how to incorporate these holidays into our family religious life (we already celebrate Chanukah, Christmas, Easter and Purim), and thanks to the amazing Rabbi Bridget and Mimi, we have a whole arsenal in our family toolkit.

Continue its mission to foster Jewish life--bringing together disenchanted and disenfranchised members of the Jewish community, in the spirit of inclusiveness, teaching and community.

I am deeply impressed by Rabbi Bridget's ability to reach people who are not being served by the rest of the Jewish community. She is inspiring and tireless and has changed, many people's lives. She has done this with minimal support and resources.
