JFS is a wonderful organization and all of the Consultants that I have met put their heart and soul into helping others. They are top notch professionals and take their jobs very seriously. I would highly recommend this organization in your job search as they work very hard for each and every person they serve.

The Verizon Wireless Human Resources Team has partnered with Lynn Aspey and her team for years providing resume / interviewing tips to help displaced workers get back to work. It has been a pleasure to work with the JFS team.

I cannot say enough good things about the programs and staff of Jewish Family Services in Columbus, especially Lisa Carroll, Danielle Ruben, Tim McNish, Jim Hatch, and June Gutterman.

JFS's Bonei Mishpachot program is truly a lifesavers, helping individuals cope with the financial and
emotional straits; while JFS's job-search programs provide those in career transition with the tools, training, advice, and support necessary to conduct a successful job-search campaign.

The Great!

helping me organize and execute a successful job-search campaign, and coping with the emotional and financial problems associated with long-term unemployment.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

increase its funding to enable the organization to provide more services to those in need in our community.

I have been so fortunate to work with Mindy Agin, a counselor in the Workforce Development Department of the Columbus JFS. Mindy and I knew each other from the community and she readily included me in her large group of opportunity- seekers. I have a varied background and Mindy coached me so that we focused on relevant skills - my resume is impressive thanks to Mindy! As a former Board member and client (!) I can say with gusto that Mindy and JFS contribute tangibly to the community of Columbus.

I met Lynn Aspey, while employed with an outpatient physical/occupational therapy organization. My initial impression of Lynn has maintained to the present - a devoted leader with a dedicated passion for serving the Central Ohio area. I look forward to continued projects with Lynn.

While at RedEnvelope, Inc., I was responsible for high volume seasonal recruiting and developing meaningful work relationships with a very diverse workforce. Shortly after my arrival at RedEnvelope, Inc., I had the good fortune of connecting with Lynn Aspey, a true dynamo at JFS. In a series of enlightening meetings, I was very confident that a partnership between our two organizations would be very fruitful in achieving not only my agreesive recruiting goals, but also, JFS could assist in providing cultural awareness and other community outreach services that my employees were in need of. Over the course of two years, Lynn and I were successful at providing over 600 seasonal associates with employment, brideged cultural gaps and even worked on the COTA Mobility Board to bring a much needed bus line to the Rickenbacher area to enable increased job accessibility to potential employees. My association with Lynn has empowered me to recommend Jewish Family Services to my peers. My experience also was such that I can proudly say that throughout my time at RedEnvelope Inc., we were proud donors of JFS. I continue to support the efforts that the organization makes under the guidance of Lynn because I believe in her mentality, connecting the non-profit world with the private sector for the benifit of those she serves.

When I was laid off by my employer, I joined the SUCCESS program at JFS to get assistance in finding a new career path. I worked mostly with Mindy Agin, but also some with the other SUCCESS counselors, as they provided me with excellent guidance. Specific things that were extraordinarily helpful to me were (1) coaching on interview skills including performing mock interviews sessions, (2) preparation of a professional and powerful resume, (3) weekly seminars and discussion groups with other SUCCESS participants, and (4) loads of advice on how to pursue employers and jobs of interest. I have recommended many friends and former colleagues to take advantage of their great services. I feel absolutely confident that the fact that I was able to get a new job in a down economy had a lot to do with the help that I got from the JFS team - their advice helped me stand out from the pack and win the job offer!

The JFS-SUCCESS program has many dedicated couselors who provide workshops and individual feedback to enhance confidence that all the best techniques are being utilized to improve the job search process. The weekly "Connecting with Success" meetings provide opportunities to network and find out what is working for others in the job search process. These meetings also bring in experts from the community to help explore different perspectives and approaches to the job search. I found that I was much more confident in my own abilities after attending the workshops and meetings. I found a job after about a month with JFS and feel that much of my success is directly tied to this program!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Enjoyed all workshops and came away from each knowing a lot more about successful job searches, interviews, and landing the job.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Very professional and devoted to the process of helping clients.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Serve a greater amount of individuals to improve their abilities and knowledge of how to become employed.

Ways to make it better...

... I really can't think of anything to improve. I was heavily participating for about a month then found a job. What could be better?

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Probably the amount of people assigned to each counselor could be stretching their limits. But I really can't say I was not properly supported.

I have worked with Lynn Aspey at Jewish Family Services on the Easton Job Fair for the past five years. Lynn is an extremely hard worker – who has an outstanding passion for what she does, a genuine desire to help the central Ohio community and its businesses, and what seems like an unlimited amount of energy! She is a great resource for all things employment and I look forward to working with her each year.

I have presented 3 times at JFS to present to their job seekers in their S.U.C.C.E.S.S. program. I am a HR Consultant for small to mid-sized organizations and my discussion was to help job seekers target and understand interviewing with those types of organizations better. JFS was extremely professional in on-boarding me, welcoming and introducing me and allowing time for Q&A's. They are very client-oriented and involve their community to help their clients in every way, shape and form. I love being associated with them. They are an example of how a community organization should work.

their desire to help their clients succeed. I also am a career coach and we do not view each other as competition, but an alignment for helping people. We refer each other as appropriate and help pass vital information out to the community.
