Mission: Jessica’s Hope Project is a newly founded 501 c 3 non-profit organization that focuses on sending fitness-oriented care packages overseas to all branches to the military in many different parts of the world. It started with a simple email to the CEO of 24 Hour Fitness. We are now trying to raise money to cover the shipping of care packages overseas to our deployed military. The average deployed military individual loses 50 pounds of body weight per deployment (information from the United States Marine Corp). Our goal is to keep this from happening by providing protein bars, muscle milk and vitamin supplements to as many military individuals as possible to maintain their physical well being and mental sharpness. By doing so, we are increasing the odds of our military not only doing their physical and mental best as they fight for our country but also coming home to their families and loved ones in better shape than in the past wars when these products were not readily available.
Results: Total number of boxes shipped as of 5/4/13: 1429
Target demographics: our deserving deployed troops overseas
Programs: Fitness Care Packages Bam Bam's Feast

Jessica's Hope Project has given nothing but great support and motivation to our men/women in the military including my husband Cpl Lugo who is on his second tour in Afghanistan. The dedication to bring smiles, joy and the sense of hope to our service member is always a success. I've seen this through photos of our military with big smiles on their faces and letters personally written with thank yous that are posted on Jessica's Hope Project site. This organization has had such a huge impact on our family. Having my husband deployed for the second time is not easy but like the first time, Jessica's Hope Project has shown the love and support to my husband as well as to his family. To know that someone out there cares like that about our family is increadible. It gives my husband and our family hope that everything will be ok and that soon we will be together again and for that we thank and appreciate greatly Jessica's Hope Project.

I was introduced to Jessica's Hope Project under very unfortanate circumstances. My friend Courtney Bombardo was one of her contacts when we were deployed to afghanistan in 2010. Shortly after our return home Courtney was in a fatal motorcycle accident. Jessica attended her funeral and spread the word about JHP. Jessica has started BAM BAMS FEAST in honor of Courtney. I am currently deployed to Africa and recieved a package from JHP. We dont get mail call out here very often but when we do it lifts our spirits and makes the day go by a little easier. Being away from our families and friends are really difficult but recieving one of her packages makes it seem like a little piece of home is out here with us. JHP is a great foundation and I have spread the word from California to Virginia about what great things they are doing for all of us away from our families.

Jessica's Hope Project was generous enough to help our group of adopted medics serving in Afghanistan. Her hard work was crucial in increasing the moral of the medics - the donated fitness supplies allow these military personal to stay in shape even when so far from home.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

having Jessica help our group to best support our adopted medic platoon.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

do my best to help them get more funding so they can help more people.

I first learned of this project while working at 24 Hour Fitness. Our HR department requested that employees bring Christmas cards to be sent to the troops via care package. Last year, I bought 100 cards and had my coworkers each sign them. Fast forward 10 months and I just recently recieved confirmation that my boyfriend (whom I met while working at 24 Hour Fitness), is deployed with Kilo Battery 3rd Batallion 11th Marines, will be getting a fitness care package soon. I am so happy that he will be getting the products that he uses while in the states as to not veer away from his fitness goals. Beyond that, I am forever grateful that a little bit of deployment stress has been lifted from my shoulders due to not being able to financially afford such amazing fitness products. Thank you so much to anyone and everyone involved!

I have 2 friends overseas in Iraq and Afganistan. Jessica was kind enough to send a care package to each of them. It means the world for our servicemen/women to recieve these packages. Jessica's Hope Project is one of the most amazing volunteer organizations I've seen.

My fiance is deployed with Kilo Battery 3rd Batallion 11th Marines. Jessica was so helpful when I contacted her, she sent a carepackage for his birthday that contained some of the comforts of home as well as a fitness/wellness carepackage. Alot of the items she gets are donated and things that I would not otherwise be able to afford to send to him. I know that these items will bring a smile to the marines' faces that he serves with. I can't wait until I'm out of college and have more financial means to support her cause.
