A great mainstay of the young-ish Seattle Jewish scene, perfect for the many folks who move to Seattle post-college and are looking for a welcoming community.

I have been a supporter of Jconnect since it's founding. If you're a 20-something Jew in the Seattle area, Jconnect is the place you want to be.

Does a fabulous job of building community for people who might not otherwise have it, especially those who are new to Seattle.

As a Board Member of Hillel for over 35 years I can attest to the great impact JConnect has had in our community. I have seen it grow from an idea to a vibrant organization bringing young Jewish people together for many years with innovative and fun programming. may you go from strength to strength.

I am on the Hillel board. For well over 20 years I have been involved in a variety of Jewish organizations attempting to reach out to younger Jews and get them involved in Jewish activities. It is very hard to do this. For me, JConnect is a terrific success. From the very beginning it has been very well organized. Its very dedicated (and overworked) staff draw in very constructive ways on the talents and resources of those involved to create many types of events responsive to the needs and desires of the group it is trying to reach. They range from the most fun (Purim parties) to the most serious (work on very meaningful social justice projects), from the small-scale to the huge. The staff does a systematic and terrific job of keeping track of participants so that it's possible to assess how well JConnect Seattle is doing on a regular basis--something that is usually not well done at all in voluntary organizations is being done very well here. The ongoing attempts to link those involved to synagogues work very well; my own synagogue hosts monthly Shabbat dinners with JConnect, and regularly attract far more people than I would havae thought possible.

Jconnect has evolved into a major part of what Hillel @ the UW is all about. Extending the continuity, expanding the community, and seeing the passion and involved of all whom are involved is fantastic. The professional staff is outstanding and they continue to deliver meaningful and fun experiences for so many young adults in the region.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

continue to connect and engage the community, only more quickly and on a bigger scale.

As board chair for Hillel - and as a board member who has watched Jconnect start and get incredible momentum, it is my honor to recommend Jconnect as among the most innovative and exciting programs in the Jewish world today. Whereas many programs are focused on Jewish youth or on young families, Jconnect targets the age at which many people who are seeking meaningful Jewish experiences have critical questions of identity and want and need a safe, engaging and open environment in which to find their Jewish Journey - and delivers incredibly well on what they're seeking.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Expand to fully meet the needs of the Greater Seattle community and define the replication mechanisms that would help other communities better engage young people seeking meaningful Jewish experiences between the ages of 18 and 32.

JConnect is a fantastic resource for young Jews in the Pacific Northwest. I wish JConnect had existed when I first moved to Seattle in 1997, it would have helped me connect with a broader Jewish community in a much more effective manner. When the program was established I met a ton of new Jewish contemporaries through their social, education, and social justice events. We baked kugels for Passover, learned about how to apply Jewish values to contemporary issues such as the Iraq war, and celebrated holidays together. As a board member I have stayed involved in JConnect from a strategic and funding perspective. It is through JConnect and Rabbi Will that my wife and I found AJWS, where we will be serving on their Volunteer Corps program this winter. JConnect faces a challenge around scaling the program to meet the full breadth of potential community needs. Making sure they are concious about prioritizing among the myriad of possible investments they make, scoping accordingly, and continuing to foster effective partnerships with other local Jewish organizations will be critical to further advance and evolve the program.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

transform the Jewish landscape of the Pacific Northwest. Right now JConnect does not have the staffing or resources to meet all of the potential areas where it can be active, especially outside of the immediate city of Seattle.

JConnect Seattle is one of the most amazing organizations I have ever worked with. That is saying a lot because I used be a consultant for nonprofits. Everything about the organization is exception. That includes the programming, the staff, attention to detail, professionalism of staff and volunteers, and everything else one could think of. I am continually impressed by the organization's drive to be better, even though they already are incredible! The leaders and staff are always thinking critically about the needs and wants of the community they serve. For example, when I came to one of the staff people with an idea, he made it happen. I cannot say more about how amazing this organization is.
