JConnect is a wonderful and vital nonprofit in the Seattle area. It offers a great range of programs for Jews who wish to participate in the Jewish community in meaningful and varied ways. The JConnect staff is also incredibly warm, available and always willing to help Jews connect with not only each other but also with the community at large.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

both my personal life and in the lives of other Jewish community members.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

provide it with additional funding so that the staff could see more of their ideas come to life.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the sense of community it provides.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

very warm, welcoming and always willing to help Jews connect with the community in ways which were important to them.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand its programming and reach out to more people.

Ways to make it better...

my experiences could not have been better.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

lack of funding and perhaps it ought to have more staff.

One thing I'd also say is that...

the staff is really what makes JConnect so worthwhile.

Jconnect offers a wide variety of Jewish programming. They understand that the Jewish community they serve is unique and encompass many different types of people. The Jconnect staff works hard to put on programs that will engage everyone and help them find meaningful ways to be Jewish. They are not afraid to push the boundaries and this helps Seattle Jews who had felt unwelcome or uncomfortable in other Jewish circles find a place and a community. This is especially true of their valuable Kolenu program.

Building community, meeting new friends, and having a chance to reconnect with old ones.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Phenomenal and extremely dedicated to what they do, they are willing to sacrifice their personal lives to see their programs succeed.

Ways to make it better...

I had more time to contribute/explore all of the programs they have to offer.

Through JConnect, I was able to finally become bat mitzvah in my early 30s. It was a wonderful enriching experience and I made many friends in the community in the process.

Jconnect is open and exciting for different people with different interests. I love that there is always something going on, from cooking classes to Shabbat services, holiday parties, social justice projects, and yoga. It's a warm and welcoming community that brings together lots of interesting people around anything that Jews might be interested in.

J-Connect is an amazing community that has helped me connect with other like-minded young Jews, and challenges me to grow. There are tons of different programs that I have been able to participate in- from helping to start a CSA with a local farm, to attending holiday and Shabbat services. It has also enabled me to strengthen my leadership skills. I have taught a series of classes on Judaism and Environmental Ethics and ran a "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" lecture.

Jconnect has provided me with a social outlet, a learning center, and a fantastic community. When I first moved to Seattle, Jconnect met my needs for a religious community. As I attended more events, ranging from services to learning to parties and volunteering, I met a fantastic, diverse group of people. These people, years later, now form my core group of friends, with new additions all the time.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

its commitment to supporting young Jews in their efforts to connect to their Judaism, in the many forms that takes.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

varied in their backgrounds, religious observance, orientation, and interests. They are all committed to making JConnect as good as it can be.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand its paid staff as well as its programming. More staff could help alleviate the unbelievable hours the current employees put in. Everyone is stretched to their limits. Additional classes could be added.

With Jconnect I have found a welcoming community that engages my interest in traditional Judaism through services, holiday celebrations and learning sessions. As well a community that full fills my desires to be culturally jewish and meet similar people through various social events. Highlights for me this past year include activities such as yoga, Sukkot Farm to Table Dinner, Jews N Brews and hiking.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand to having more successful programs that engage young jews across the greater Seattle area, create a larger sense of community and help other Hillel's internationally do the same.

Wonderful! There is something for everyone at JConnect--regardless of your observance, sexuality, background or available time. The staff is welcoming and professional helping the organization more by empowering its members than taking on every small project. Jconnect helped me meet new people, get back in touch with old friends and strengthen relationships. THANK YOU
