Review from Guidestar
April 26, 2010

The United States has made two major blunders in providing food relief and autonomy to Africa. We provided powdered milk to ethnic groups which were lactase deficient and became sickened with diarrhea from our largesse. We provided cattle which were ill-suited to the climate and forage conditions of Africa and have not prospered. The Texas longhorn project provides a chance for the United States and Israel to grow cattle which are tough enough to survive the climate, forage conditions and predators and to flourish, providing needed protein, animal products and economic advancement for people who need a hand-up, not a handout. Several years ago, when we had dinner at our home with a Ugandan couple, we learned how unproductive the land was for cattle raising, so that thousands of acres were needed to barely support their family. I support the Texas Longhorn project because it provides the people of Africa the chance to develop their own successful cattle industry, it furthers world peace and understanding, and is a springboard to economic recovery.

It was excellent.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

(1) financial - for initial operations and (2) lack of support from NGOs because this appears to be a self-sustaining project
