I am a middle aged non-professional dancer who has been transformed in the last 10 years by InterPlay. When I started, I was NOT middle aged, didn’t have grey hair and certainly did not consider myself a dancer. As time has progressed I enter into mid life with ease and grace with the tools I have found in InterPlay....Dancing all the way! When I dance alone, I am a solo dancer, when I dance on behalf of someone or some circumstance, I am prayerfully dancing. I dance at work albeit in my cube in the corporate world, but I dance! I dance with an incredible ensemble, Off The Deep End; which sprang from InterPlay. I stepped into InterPlay's philosophy, jumped into the Programs that lead me to a deeper understanding of my own being and I dance, dance, dance! In Raleigh, North Carolina there is a strong InterPlay community that embraces diversity, encourages, affirms and provides opportunities to play and dance.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my personal life by gaining a deeper appreciation and compassion for other people and their journeys. I have grown to love at a level that gives me peace. I have greatly advanced in my performing abilities with dancing, singing and storytelling.

I left Kansas City in 2009 to follow my passion of dance, movement, creativity, improv, storytelling, community and transformation. I moved to California for 6 months to take the InterPlay Life Practice r. Little did I know how much my inner being was yearning for a way to express all the feelings, creativity and essence that lay untapped for so long. The program provided the freedom to explore self through forms, story, song, stillness and movement. The beauty of spontaneous dance and story opened hearts and minds to explore beyond personal boundaries through the spirit of play and community. The ongoing dedication of Cynthia Winton-Henry and Phil Porter for excellence and global social change is evident in their classes, website exchanges and reaching out in the community to support and foster the human spirit. Today I lead playgroups in Kansas City and am exceedingly amazed at the beauty of creative play that changes lives and creates community. Later this year I will be utilizing InterPlay for Inner City, challenged youth and in school districts for teachers.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my daily living practices, personal artistry and local community.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Currently I have no changes that I feel is needed.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

continued ability to be inspired and the tools that I use in daily living as well as the ability to create community where play, movement and inner essence is allowed to flourish.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

helpful, present, and supportive.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the way the world lives and views life. InterPlay would be instituted as a main staple in schools, prisons, hospitals, corporations, businesses, churches to foster community, diversity communication and well being for all.

Ways to make it better...

I could bring the InterPlay community in California to Kansas City on a permanent basis.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

receiving greater financial funding to grow in a larger capacity.

One thing I'd also say is that...

thank goodness there is InterPlay out there that creates change and well being in a playful, easy way where all are welcomed and celbrated
