International Tibet Network connects and resources hundreds of Tibet support groups throughout the world. Over the last year it has taken its work to a new level, responding to the escalating crisis inside Tibet by providing first-rate leadership of the international movement, running powerful campaigns and enabling groups from Europe to Australia to take coordinated and strategic action.

I have watched the International Tibet Network grow over the past decade and enthusiastically support them because of the critical communications, coordinations and caring services this organization provides to the international Tibet movement. These services enhances the effectiveness of it overall and are a special service to underrepresented or underserved populations around the globe interested in advancing Tibetan rights.

Excellent to have this organization ITN share information and enable member groups to be more effective. The staff are clear and focused and dynamic. Our goals are refined and achievable - human rights in Tibet. One aspect of their work key for me is the commitment to nonviolence and outreach to the Chinese people. Inter-ethnic and interfaith outreach is high on my priority list. I remember working on these issues without the foundation/support of an international org and it was tough. ITN is basic and enabling.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Curiosity about Tibet is strong in high schools, colleges and universities in the Boston area and ITN has all the history and current affairs facts and stories to satisfy and educate. Lawyers, judges and health care providers need current data, current events to document refugees requests and ITN has this. I personally proceed with increased confidence knowing that ITN can share and distribute news of Tibet either within the country or among exiles. They've got my back. We've got synergy.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

If ITN could increase their staff/budget they'd be able to provide even more support to small groups. As an activist working both as a volunteer and as a professional, I have been particularly devoted to and interested in the Tibetan cause for the past 14 years. ITN is the best thing that's come on the scene.

I am not sure if I am liable to post a review in the name of Tibetan Community in Poland as we are just a fresh member of this magnificient INTERNATIONAL TIBET SUPPORT NETWROK that binds all those great groups acting all across the globe for the same common cause of regaining the occupied Tibet. I am extremely happy to hear about my elelction to the Steering Committee member to the Central and Eastern Europe few months back. I knew about the Network and their l wide ranged activities for Tibet from few years. Not to go so far are the recent global actions of International Tibet Support Netwrok in which I also could act ; Global week of actions for Ngaba (30.05. - 06.06.2011) , Global Day of Action for Tibet (13th July 2011) titled 60 Years of Oppression: China's Failed Tibet Policies and ongoing long term actions for Release Karma Samdrup ( a leading Tibetan enviromentalist and philanthropist) and Family sentenced to 15 years for alleged political activities and Dhondup Wangchen. Apart from these effective actions there are campaigns namely; Political prisoners, The Third Pole bringing the key issues of the survival of Tibetan nomads on their own land to the world's attention . These events and campaigns are longed tools for lot of people willing to act for Tibet and Tibetans. The actions launched by ITN worth of special attentions are uncounted on-line petitions prepared in advance as a quick response to political riots and unrests in Tibet, ready to be signed by the interested persons in favor of not only Tibetans but also chinese citizens and the release of 2011 Noble Peace Prize Lauret Liu Xiaobo and Ai Wei Wei could be fowarded as the direct results of actions carried out. The on-line petitions were greatly helpful for us to put pressure on the world leaders and the local chinese authorities to take significant steps to end the occupation of the Kirti monastery by the chinese armies, the crack down on the Kirti monks and to force restrain from violence and tortures on the hundreds of arrested in the Ngaba couty in the Amdo province of Tibet and recently in Karze area. It's so great to share these great moments experienced in the last few months of our membership in ITSN and ardently looking foward for much greater experience and touch of relief to a minor extent to my mates back in Tibet in the months and years to come. Currently I join my hands with ITN in their efforts to Protect the Tibetans in Nepal deemed to massive influence of the Chinese Communit Party.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

1. Making my voice in the name of countrymates deprvied of the freedom of speech in Tibet heard globally. 2. pushing my pressure on the world leaders and local chinese authorities to untighten their grip on Tibetans in Tibet. 3. witnessing the release of few prominent Tibetan political prisoners and Chinese intellectuals. 4. not wasting my potential as a Tibetan living in a free world capable of acting for my mates in Tibet, the real heroes of Tibet. 5, putting my thoughts into actions.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I honestly feel not deserving to suggest any changes to this gorgeously functioning organization after giving yet not much from my side. Any change for the better of it might I suggest if only come across.

I'm Tibetan-American & have been in the active Tibet movement for many years. I'm new to join Tibet Network but have been familiar with their work for several years. The Tibet Network has given a much-needed boost to the Tibet support movement. It has helped coordinate activities, plan strategies, provided resource material & information, and international/regional organized meetings so that Tibet Support Groups can meet and strategize as well as get to know each other. For small NGOs like the one I belong to, US-Tibet Committee, the Tibet Network has been a boon. They have provided us sample press releases, information about important dates, and suggested actions. Since USTC has no staff & limited budget, Tibet Network allows us to continue our work to help the people of Tibet.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My NGO, USTC, has received substantial assistance from Tibet Network that has helped us continue our struggle for Tibetan freedom.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I don't have any specific recommendations right now but will do everything I can to help improve this organization as a new Steering Committee member.

I am associated with International Tibet support network for the last four years. I am an Indian citizen of Tibetan origin and therefore a part of both supporter and supportee for this cause. I believe that I must have done some good things in my previous live that I am able to join such an organization and be the voice of the 6 million fellow Tibetans in Tibet who have no voice for themselves and whose only ray of hope are organizations like this. Our first strategy ‘putting Tibetans in Tibet first’ and networking with all international organizations that aims to restore fundamental human rights through non-violence has gained great appreciations from Tibetans as well as Chinese intellectuals.
I am also amazed to see so many members in this network who contributes their time and energy and because of their selfless dedication this network has risen from a non entity organization four years back into one of the most vibrant and vital coordination network, central to the Tibet movement.
With a very limited funding, I think we have done wonders so far. Yet there is so much to do including organizing Tibet awareness camps and such actions that can keep the hope of Tibetans alive.
We are not working against Chinese people but simply telling the Communist Government that the Tibetans who have 2500 years of unique civilization, history, culture and religion and distinct ethnic entity have the right to survive and determine their own future.
I hope and appeal to all the right thinking people of the world to support us and support the truth and justice.

During the Beijing Olympic, when some of the Tibet activists were arrested, one of the questions, Chinese police keep asking was their relationship with Tibet Support Network. We may not have directly organised these activities but I am sure our coordination has greatly helped to make the world aware of the facts and seek support for a just cause.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

If I have more funding, I would organize more and more Tibet awareness camps around the world and highlight the suppressed feeling of the 6 million Tibetan in Tibet.

The inception of International Tibet Network in itself has been a huge advancement of the global Tibet movement.

Tibet Networks’ dynamic group of staff working round the clock from various time zones make sure that all Tibetan and Support groups are regularly provided with updates on
development of situation in Tibet and materials for various campaigns designed by the Network making it the resource hub for most member groups.

The network played a key role in coordinating the global uprising for Tibet in 2008 during the Beijing Olympics which became a huge success by stealing the spotlight from the Chinese government that they even went on calling Freya Putt, program coordinator of Tibet Network during the Olympics the 'General Commander' of a torch-disruption network” in Xinhua, the state run news portal.

As an individual in the movement, I feel that the existence of the network has helped make the movement global and has brought together all the different groups supporting Tibet on various issues, bringing unity to the movement but at the same time acknowledging the diversity of groups.

various works Tibet Network is doing. The network takes initiative organizing trainings for various groups in capacity building and trainings specifically on strategy building, the result of which has empowered many groups and are now more efficient and effective in their campaign works.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I wouldn't want to change anything in International Tibet Network, but would want to add more staff working full-time for the network so that the great work being done at present could be taken to a much higher and more effective level.

ITN is doing a great job! Keep up the good work! The Norwegain Tibet Committee makes good use of the ideas and suggestions and the tactics that ITN comes up with. And we think that it is important to have ITN who coordinates the TSGs campaigns.

Tibet Network, with a core full time staff of five global activists and strategists, provide a platform and process for shared strategic planning and coordination amongst Tibet activist groups around the world, small and large. The network is the silent backbone to the Tibet movement. Its effective behind the scenes modus operandi is a challenge to its own ability to raise funds and resources for its important work.

Tibet uprising 2008 and Olympics 2008.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Raise the public profile of the network, and encourage its individual member organizations to pitch in to expand the network's donor base.
