Billions of dollars are being invested in building dams throughout the Amazon that will devastate the environment and displace local communities and cause massive emission of green house gases as the vegetation decomposes. International Rivers is at the forefront of ensuring that local communities and the environment is put before economic greed and is the leading expert on these issues.

I was a General Member of the Public & I started a civil service organization with a mission to save the rivers of the Great lakes region and help the poor have sustainale clean water access

Personally I am always encouraged by your noble work. i have started a water governance institute in Uganda and I wish borrow from your leaf to save the rivers of the great lakes region in eastern Africa. Please identify for us funding organizations that can support us. You are simply the BEST.

- My experience would have been better if... I was able to participate physically
- If I ran this organization, I would... I would promote values of the International Rivers- Conserving the world's great Rivers and protecting them fro human destruction. We have River Nile and I could do a lot
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... Outreach is limited, and they need real manpower deployed around the world to collect information and inform them timely on case by case basis
- One thing I'd also say is that... They have a huge work before them and challenges, which they need to address. i am willing to partner with them if I ever had a chance at all.

International Rivers is an amazing force for protecting and revitalizing the world's rivers and the cultures and and traditions that flow with them. They have done so much around the globe to link water and human rights that they should be recognized for this important work every day of the year. Without water there is no life. With sustainable rivers and strong cultural traditions we all thrive!

- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... a well-funded hydroelectric power industry and a world hell bent on developing in ways that required more energy every day
- One thing I'd also say is that... I'd like to see other environmental and human rights groups do what International Rivers has done as far as making the links between ecosystems and human rights
