As a long-term volunteer at IMOW and a person behind the scenes, I can tell you that its a amazing non-profit. As the only fully online women oriented museum, it focusing on art and stories of women. This is powerful because it gives a value to the lives of women and also a sense of community to the reality of the wider world beyond the virtual world. It can also reach to so many people across borders accessed in the convenient of your own home. Also the best part of it is it's free! Although IMOW's site is English oriented, there are exhibitions that have a range of languages so those who could not read English can access the exhibition such as 'Imagining Ourselves' with Arabic, French and Spanish. Also they occasionally have awesome events in SF. If your in the city check out if they have any events because they are phenomenal!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the SF office and the IMOW site

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

to give them lots of money so they can operate in a ton of languages so they can reach a wider audience and officially have them able to afford their own internet!

I recently discovered the International Museum of Women and was so impressed with this groundbreaking social change museum that I immediately became a volunteer. This innovative online museum connects and gives voice to women globally through online exhibitions, history, arts and cultural programs that educate, create dialogue, and advance gender equity worldwide.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing the enthusiasm and enlightenment of the audience during an event to mark the publication of "Land of the Unconquerable: The Lives of Contemporary Afghan Women." The discussion threw out many of the misconceptions about the lives of Afghan women.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Continue to push to expand the outreach of this amazing and innovative online museum.

Anyone concerned with women's issues knows that a major factor in the need for feminism is invisibility and exclusion. The International Museum of Women is a monument to women, and there can never be enough of those. They are a convergence of art an activism that spans the globe and unites women from disparate cultures. There will never, ever be enough work being done to fight isolation. IMOW unites, inspires and elevates women. I salute them.

Um... what does this group actually do besides suck money out of philanthropy to pay for their own online play pen? Utter rubbish.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

watching them waste a whole lot of money, time and potential talents of others. What a waste of space, cyber or otherwise.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

see it closed down.
