I was inspired with great work being done by the volunteers of this organization & had great joy in supporting their cause through a fund raiser event last year. The kids need healthy tools to handle their emotions better not just some techy -gadgets.

IAHV has been doing amazing work within US and countries abroad. As an organization they are always ne of the first to help in trauma relief and programs which help people to deal with the emotional stress of a calamity.

IAHV has been a truly satisfying volunteering experience. The programs are very valuable and helping people in a way that has long-term impact. The YES for Schools program is very successful and teaches stress-relief to teenagers to give them the calmness to deal with daily challenges and succeed in their lives. The disaster relief programs have impact because they combine stress-relief, empowerment with material relief in form of food and clothing.

When Sandy hit NJ, IAHV volunteers worked tirelessly to help people in affected area. They collected canned goods & other food items, clothing, toys jackets etc. utilities & above all gave their time @ the shelters helping people reduce stress by simple exercises. There timely help was much appreciated.

As a volunteer for years, I am truely amazed by the dedication, commitment, enthusiasm and passion of the staff and fellow volunteers at IAHV. I have witnessed it first hand.. Service with a Smile and just being there for the needy drives these volunteers..

As a volunteer for a few years now, I have continually been impressed with the dedication, passion, and sincerity of IAHV's staff and volunteers. The approach is so innovative, and SO what's missing in the world!

It was so rewarding to offer a service that was so needed and yet so rare - we gave people practical tools including yoga, breathing techniques, meditation to help Katrina survivors overcome the stress of the hurricane and get back to their lives.

Many people we taught said that they
were getting the best sleep they had since the hurricane. We also taught the staff of other nonprofits to help them not get burnt out. We taught all the 911 first responders. We helped turn a free lunch program ran by another nonprofit into a half day kids camp.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I've studied and volunteered with IAHV and the Art of Living Foundation since 2001. It has totally transformed the way I deal with stress and I've never felt so rewarded as getting to help people learn tools to handle their mind and emotions.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Help them get better marketing.

I have most recently been involved in IAHV Haiti youth corp project. They are doing amazing work building individuals from the inside out, then giving them the skill that they need. I think this organization is doing great work on very little money.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The place of service that IAHV volunteers are coming from has deeply changed the way I look at service.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Increase the number of paid worker to help with logistics. Be a mostly all volunteer staffers can create challenges.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The deep impact they have in people life's. There empowerment workshops are profound and powerful leaving a lasting effect.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

awesome and doing it from their hearts, which is what I connected with most.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

they'd do amazing things in the world. But to be honest I'm glad they don't. It's the volunteer bootstrap attitude that make this organization great. They do need more money though.

Ways to make it better...

Finances had not been so tight and there were more paid staffers.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Lack of funding and managing huge numbers of volunteer staff.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week
