I look forward to sharing my time with guests at the Interfaith Rotating Winter Shelter. Volunteering in this way is so meaningful to me. I know that I learn something from each guest that strengthens my faith and when I see them satisfied with a good meal and a clean sleeping bag in which to sleep, I know my time is well spent. I have come to know something about homelessness that I never knew before and hope to be able to continue giving my time to this endeavor. It is very well worth every moment!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

getting to know the guests and experiencing their confidence in my leadership.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Nothing specific at this time.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The ability to get to know our guests and understand better what the homeless go through.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

gracious, kind, understanding and willing to go the extra mile.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

provide workshops that would hoefully reduce the nubmer of homeless through education and preparedness for returning to the community.

Ways to make it better...

A in all new endeavors, each year we improve on our experiences and this being our third year, we have come very far. Next year will be even better and hopefully members of the City Council and our neighbors will recognize the good that is done our guests

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

relating to neighbors and members of the City Council

One thing I'd also say is that...

I would like to see us invite member os the City Council and neighbors to volunteer in a way that creates a better understanding of our intentions.

The IRWS of Davis is one of the most impactful community efforts I have ever seen. It is truly amazing to see people and families from all walks of life participate in the provision of shelter and hospitality for the underserved homeless in our community. I look forward to every time I am able to encounter guests and fellow volunteers who have become friends to me. I feel extraordinarily blessed to be a part of such an inspiring organization.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing guests feel safe and supported upon entering the shelter. I have first handely seen what happens between guests and volunteers when both parties show up.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

be able to pay staff to have more consistent coverage.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

meeting the guests and the volunteers on a personal level. Enjoying dinner and conversation with friends.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

incredibly compassionate, thoughtful, giving and selfless

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

save the world!

Ways to make it better...

I was more experienced

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

not having enough volunteers.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I am so thankful to the IRWS for the oppurtunity they have given me to help serve the homeless.

I have been so blessed by the guests at the IRWS shelter as well as with the most amazing volunteers

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

that it is a faith based organization that is strictly run by volunteers and churches and has become a well oiled machine

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

I've enjoyed meeting our guests and getting to know who they are

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

very kind and generous and had one purpose, to serve our less fortunate

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

become independent from the surrounding neighbors who are against the homeless in the city, give vocational scholarships and provide more counseling services

The IRWS continues to serve those living homeless with compassion and radical hospitality. The volunteers make this 100% volunteer organization the success that it is today!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the relationships that are formed between the housed and un-housed.
