Interfaith Ministries, Inc. is a united effort of the religious community to show God''s love.  We respond to those in need through advocacy and coordination of community resources.

Financial assistance is given to low-income Wichita County and Holliday residents who face short-term crises, for example; gasoline, prescriptions, rent, utility bills, deposits, car repair, medical supplies, dentures, hearing aids, copies of birth certificates, ID cards, and other basic needs.  Payment is made to a utility company, landlord, drugstore or other provider, not directly to the client.

I began as a volunteer with IMI about 8 years ago and subsequently was asked to serve on the Board of Directors. I am finishing my second term this year. Interfaith Ministries is a faith-based organization that began as a ministry from the 1979 tornado disaster recovery efforts. When I worked in the Rx Department as a volunteer I was amazed to see the number of clients that we could serve who could not otherwise afford their medications. Although I have not served as a volunteer for almost two years, I am starting again this week! IMI fills a tremendous need in our community and is much appreciated by its clients

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing how people have been helped to afford costly precscriptions that are vital to their health.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

continue just as is. The board and the staff are continually looking at ways to improve and take that oppourtunity whenever possible.

Will you volunteer or donate to this organization beyond what is required of board members?

In 1979, our city suffered through a tragic tornado. I am a very active United Methodist Christian. I was asked by the City of Wichita Falls to chair a reconstruction/redevelopment Committee after the tornado. Shortly after the Committee started to work, the Pastor of FUMC called me to tell me that the UMCOR of the Untied Methodist Church had sent huge monetary valued check to be used in our City. We talked a while and it was his idea to start a Faith based organization to help the victims fo the disster recover. That was the begining of Interfaith Ministries. It help so many people in the recovery.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I saw people with no hope of recovery from the shock turn their recovery around after a visit to IMI.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Work to increase the monetary worth of IMI so to help more people.
