icstars drastically changes peoples lives. From striving to survive to thriving in the modern world. Wish there were more programs like this in other areas. I have always had issues with government funding going towards welfare like programs... Imagine if it all went to programs like icstars (which isn't government funded at all if I am correct)...this is entirely possible, payment while you need it, and a career once you leave. Can't beat it. I only wish that it went beyond the technology focus so I could get more people involved.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my professional, and my personal life as well.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Seperate the Community and Technology tracks. Keep the curriculum as of now for the tech part, and do something similar on the community side, but include more on starting a nonprofit, legal things, etc...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

they seem more like family than what I actually have in many ways.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Family.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Change the city.

Ways to make it better...

I was less of an oddball.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the fact it seems too good to be true.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I think they see things in us the rest of us ignore.

As an alumnus and supporter of ic stars I can say that nobody does a better job of setting young people on a path from poverty to prosperity.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

create a nationwide model for how to turn so called "at risk" inner city youth into community leaders.

I have had a strong relationship with i.c. stars for the past 6 years. They continue to support the chicago community as a whole through innovative and extraordinary programs.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Each employee of i.c. stars cares about each individual that walks through their door.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Experienced and perosnal.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

become a nationwide program.

ICSTARS is a place where you learn and have fun. You meet people that you never thought you would ever get to meet by having tea with the best CEO's in the country. These CEO's that come to the organization gives each intern undivided attention helping them to become leaders in their community. Giving back is the best part of the program. What you learn you give back to the community. I love ICSTARS if it wasn't for them I don't know how I would had made it out of the hood. THANKS ICSTARS!!!THANKS CEO's!!! I had the drive but no directions now I do thanks to ICSTARS.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

helping fortune 500 company's with their IT department.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

make it available in all states

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Support, Networking,training and the love

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Did not look down on me, they are sooooooooo nice and they related to my situation.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the city.

Ways to make it better...

I woke up out of bed and was already there.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

donations

One thing I'd also say is that...

The president of the company is so down to earth. She don't act like she is doing you a favor she makes you do yourself a favor and take advantage of the training.

The Inner-City Computer Stars Foundation has given me a very new perspective of life, the world, and technology. As an intern or a current client I.C.Stars has broadened my scope of how life can be. I have had the opportunity to sit and be present with C.E.O'S and other top executives and made to feel as an equal and not some student off the street.I.C.Stars is about, in my mind ,about changing perspectives,my own and the worlds.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The way I look at myself and the things that I can accomplish.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Give more money.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The exposure to top executives.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Phemonal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Provide this city with the next generators of change and leadership.

Ways to make it better...

They had more donor funding.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding.

One thing I'd also say is that...
