IC Stars is a great organization. They have developed a wonderful database tool that we use in our organization every day. .c.stars is a non profit organization that helps you embody, BLT(Business, Leadership, and Technology) skills that will play a key role in making a difference in our community. CONTRIBUTE TO i.c.stars AND BE A PART OF DEVELOPING THE NEXT 1,000 COMMUNITY LEADERS BY YEAR 2020.Because of i.c.stars I am now building websites and waking the hidden entrepreneur that was dormant inside me. I thank i.c.stars for bringing out the best out of me to help others in the same way.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my internship that i had with cycle 20. I was able to be a part of a great organization that let me work with other great minds in responding to an RFP, Building an Ecommerce Business, and Building two Websites all in 4 months time.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

is all the new great friends and mentors that are now part of my life and the suggestions, advice, and training that i will take with me to forever and use in my new found career in IT.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Outstanding in every way. True experts and true believers that were with me every step of the way during my internship and up to this day still offering their experience and advice.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change perceptions not only on a local scale but in a world wide scale, changing the way we look at our communities, professions, and technology. The community leaders goal would be reached and met and we would have to look at a much higher numbertoachiev

The Inner-City Computer Stars Foundation has given me the opportunity to develop and improve my business, leader and technical skills. As an intern, I.C.Stars has broadened my network by introducing me to C.E.O'S and other top executives at tea. The Inner-City Computer Stars Foundation focuses on giving back to others, the community and beyond. I had technical knowledge but now I have a purpose for utilizing that knowledge to help others. I never knew I could use my passion to change the world.

In my experience, i.c.stars has provided me with an opportunity to realize my potential and has given me a means through technology to really give back. I had absolutely no technology experience what so ever and within 4 months, I had worked as a web developer for a non-for-profit, pitched a business plan to a group of venture capitalist, and was the lead database specialist on a project to enhance an inner office email system with a user interface for United Stationers. I also had the opportunity to go into MY OWN community and choose an organization to work wih. All of this from a single mother whose first and only job was a cashier at Jewel Food Store! I now work as a Development Analyst at one of the top health insurance companies in the nation! i.c.stars has offered 100s of people just like me the opportunity to shatter perceptions, become change agents, and uplift our communities.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

realizing my leadership potential. Before i.c.stars, I knew I wanted to give back but was unsure of how I would do it. This organizations gave me the tools to reach out and give back to my community.

I attended IC Stars as an Intern in 2000. I was in a very difficult time in my life where I dealt with family issues and was unable to continue college. After a vigorous process, I was fortunate to be accepted in this program. Clearly this was a life changing experience for me. While this program teaches various technology, the discipline involved is unmatched. This was the first time ever where I had to work 12 hour or longer days to complete mock projects constructed by real companies. 2 tardies or an absent disqualifies you from the program. Unique was the involvement of the staff, volunteers, and other Interns. You really bond into another level of friendship when going through this level of difficult yet rewarding experience. After completing, this experience helped me to get a position with Microsoft Network, (IC Stars has a strong network) and now I am currently working at a Fund of Hedge Funds with IC Stars being the foundation of my work experience. Now I have over 7 years professional experience. I would recommend this to someone who is strong willed and who needs an opportunity to prove themself a person of good character. Definitely not for slackers.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

- Character building - Opportunity to prove myself - Ability to learn outside of the box - Teamwork - Corporate edicates - Discipline

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Expand it to other locations besides Chicago. Make it a national experience.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The actual fruit of landing a real job.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

- Definitely compassionate - Aware of the challenges - Inspirational - Intelligent - Out the box thinkers - Motivators - Do what it takes to get the job done

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Help more willing people who has a difficult time getting work and job experience, especially if they lack a college degree.

Ways to make it better...

As tough as it was for me then, the Lord definitely made this a light of hope for me in 2000.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

The perception that college degree seekers excel the will and excellence of alumni from this organization.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I look forward to seeing this organization grow
