Bill Wade and his InLet Dance team never fail to inspire and impress with their work. Their commitment to excellence is unsurpassed and they never lose sight of finding ways to give back to their community. One cannot leave an InLet performance without being profoundly changed. Their impact is priceless.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

watching Bill Wade grow and develop over the years, both as an artist and a careful steward of the InLet resources. He has been adept at making much from little.

I am related to one of the company members and understand their philosophy of "using dance to further people". The kids who you see in their Summer Dance Intensive concert are just full of life and love the company members, and thrive on the respect and care they receive during this program. The focus is on building up the esteem, skill and character of each and every dancer involved. The themes of the dances are moving and thought provoking and examine our lives in our world today.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

watching performances and talking with company members and director

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

find a way that they could all afford medical and dental coverage and work at dance full time.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

experiencing the transcendent in their work

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

dedicated, gifted, energetic and humble

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand its mission of growing people through dance to new and existing dance companies, and the dancers could dedicate full time and stay healthy because they would not have to work a second job to survive

Ways to make it better...

I did not have to travel so far - it's only an hour and a half away, but I wish they were closer.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the energy drain from having to work another job to survive. They encourage one another, but creativity is at a risk when you have to be a "starving artist".

One thing I'd also say is that...

Every single one of the people I have met involved in this program, whether member of the company or student, admires the leadership, creative gifts, dedication and passion of the Artistic Director, Bill Wade.

As a 54-year-old adult and non-professional dancer it was my privilege to participate in Inlet Dance Theatre's Summer Intensive Dance (SDI) Program for 2.5 weeks this past summer. The stretching, exercise, demonstrations, instructions and choreography add up to huge lessons in dance, and more importantly, in life. The commitment of and guidance from the troupe are outstanding. Inlet provides the opportunity to step into the daily routines of a dancer's life with the expectation that students of all ages commit and participate fully. Each troupe member readily answered questions on technique through personal conversation as well as classes taught. Having students dance in pubic arenas (Tower City, Cain Park) allows the summer program to be real while encouraging each to become a viable participant within the community. The dedication of each member of the troupe is exemplified by their multiple hours each day of practice and teaching; necessity demands that each also supplement their income with part-time work. The demands on the troupe are many, yet each focuses and strives to reach that next level of professionalism; their talents are huge. Inlet Dance Theatre stays connected to many of the arts and school organizations in the area, teaching about dance through community and individual participation. Performances by troupe members are coupled with encouraging audience members to share their feelings about the performance through a guided conversation with Bill Wade, artistic director; he explains and teaches so that the audience may broaden its curiosity, understanding and interest. As many arts organizations struggle to stay viable within communities through performances and public service, and as many schools are cutting their arts and music programs, it is important that funding become more readily available so that community members of all ages may enjoy and grow within the arts program provided by Inlet. I will dance again with Inlet in the 2010 SDI program, after which I have offered to volunteer in the office or as needed. Your financial support can allow Inlet Dance Theatre an avenue to continue its valuable community involvement.

Inlet is an incredible organization that provides outstanding programs for youth and the community at large. I have attended 3 summer performance by their youth camp attendees, and the results were amazing! The ability of Inlet to draw out the kids' creativity and energy and to teach them professional level performance skills is remarkable. The kids who participate develop not only performance skills but they also grow and mature as young human beings. This is an organization that is well worth one's investment of time and money. I highly recommend Inlet Dance Theater.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

several free performances for the general public, as well as how they worked with high school students in the public schools, including my daughter.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

seeing the growth and sheer joy of the youth who participate in their programs.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Professional, enthusiastic, caring, nurturing, and great educators.

Inlet was one of the first creative organizations that i was exposed to here in Cleveland when i moved from Texas. They have been a consistent presence in the creative community i have been involved in and have been very inspirational to me in my own field.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

take over the world!
