My family attending the NYC Retreat in November 2015. The entire trip was flawlessly planned and overall an amazing and memorable experience for everyone. The volunteers were so kind and willing to lend a helping hand in any situation. It was nice to be able to connect with other families going through the same thing through the discussion groups. The activities were planned wonderfully and such that we did not have to worry about a thing. Everything was so family friendly and focused on providing us with the perfect NYC experience. Truly an amazing organization.
Our family had the opportunity to attend the legacy retreat in January 2016. Words are hard to describe the memories that were made and the friendships made and the HOPE that we know the LORD provides. All of the volunteers did an outstanding job. Our lives have changed and our JOY has been stronger due to Inheritance of Hope
Spent 3.5 days in Orlando with 23 other families being treated to a Legacy Retreat from Inheritance of Hope! We were treated like royalty -- every detail was attended to -- meals, transportation and our own personal "paparazzi". Staff and Volunteers were just wonderful, supportive, caring and encouraging! We logged more than 3 miles each day -- laughed, cried, and made new friends and memories! I was humbled to be considered for this retreat; and I'm more humbled by the generosity and support we received.
The Orlando Inheritance of Hope trip was an amazing experience. I am grateful for all the priceless memories we made. I am a single mom with stage 4 cancer and three teenage boys. I would not have been able to have such a great trip or memories with my boys without all of you at IOH!! Thanks so much to Deric, Jessica, Nate and everyone else who helped in putting on this awesome IOH trip. I was so blessed to be able to go on this retreat.
My family was blessed to go on a retreat with IOH and it was outstanding! This organization thought of everything to make us feel welcome and took care of all of the details to make each day and event something we will never forget! We left feeling revived spiritually, emotionally and physically. Being able to share stories with families in similar situations was such a relief. It was awesome to hear from children who had survived the loss of a parent and the legacy they had left behind. We will never forget the experience and people we met on our trip and will always be thankful for the opportunity to attend.
At first I thought this trip was too good to be true. I joked that I wouldn't believe it until I stepped foot on the plane. Well not only was it true, it was beyond my wildest expectations, and I can expect a lot! What really blew me away was the servant attitude of the volunteers. When people offer to carry your food trays for your children and they jump at your requests immediately and think of solutions before you know there was a problem, well, I think that is nothing short of grace beyond measure. I have to admit, that it was a little uncomfortable to receive so much help, at first, but it was humbling and so helpful, not only to me but to all the people there. It was such a shining example of hope and joy in the lives of people with extreme and desperate situations.
I hope that everyone with these types of circumstances can experience a Legacy Retreat. Words can barely describe how I feel about the whole thing. All I can say is if you have a chance to participate as a client, a donor, or volunteer then you should jump at the opportunity.
My family has been through many tough days since my wife's cancer diagnosis but our recent experience with the Inheritence of Hope foundation has provided us with a new sense of hope and gratitude. The love and thoughtfulness that the organizers and volunteers showed us was nothing short of remarkable. To go to this retreat and have everyone doting on you, spoiling you, and doing everything in their power to show you a great time was amazing. The entire time we were there every minute of the trip was carefully planned out and filled with thoughtful little details to make you feel like their special guest. Many of the staff became involved because cancer has taken a loved one and I found myself in awe of their strength as they shared their stories. It takes a special person to dedicate the time and energy it takes to put on a retreat like this for people who are strangers to them. I forever greatful to the staff and donors for what you have done for my family and am thankful for having met such a kind group of people-you are the salt or th earth. From the bottom of my heart I want to say, thank you. -Bill Lanchantin
Our family was the recipient of the Inheritance of Hope Legacy Retreat. As a mother of three young children and wife to a supportive husband, I was diagnosed with ALS a year and a half ago. I desperately needed something to help guide us down our inevitable path. I needed human connections from other parents that face similar situations as well as connections with families that have experienced the worst but come back on the other side and share their love with us. I needed tools to continue on as I leave behind my three children and spouse. Inheritance of Hope was the answer to my prayers. They serviced our family emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually and financially for the family Legacy Retreat. As a progressing mother with ALS my family is in need of different emotional supports but my family shares a desire to connect with others in a similar situation. Inheritance of Hope not only connected us, they gave us tools to move forward and what seems to be our darkest days. I am equally inspired by the circumstances and beginning of this amazing foundation, which in itself is a beautiful blessing.
After our family completed the Orlando January 2016 retreat, I returned home feeling inspired, hopeful and a little more at peace even though my fatal diagnosis has not changed. I am forever grateful to Inheritance of Hope for the gift that will continue on in our family long after I'm gone. Every family who receives a terminal fatal diagnosis deserves this experience. Thank you Inheritance of Hope for being a bright light that will continue to shine.

Inheritance of Hope is one of the most incredible organization's I have ever had the privilege of becoming associated with. As a wife and mother with stage iv metastatic breast cancer, time is of the essence for us. My family was chosen for an incredible Orlando vacation all expenses paid in the middle of January. I can attest leaving Wisconsin in January is gift enough, but the warmth and love shown to my family is hands down the most incredible take away one will receive. This organization does exactly what they say "Every family deserves a legacy". Provides families with the opportunity to digest all the different pieces of the diagnosis of a terminal illness. Figuring out where and what one might like their legacy to be is a bit overwhelming. This organizations gives you the tools you may need to begin this herculean effort. They also give your family memories of a lifetime!
Not only are the theme parks offered to families but every day age-appropriate group counseling is given to your kids by kind-hearted, loving people. In addition, patients and their spouses are also given an opportunity for daily group therapy as well. Meeting other families with similar struggles while being able to share with each other is incredible. For the first time since my diagnosis, I felt like I truly "belonged" somewhere. My kids felt a part of something so BIG, so UNIQUE, the lasting effect is difficult to even articulate. Now the some of the most kind-hearted, gentle, loving volunteers and staff. This organization is unbelievable. From the logistics of coordinating flights for 23 families to and from Orlando to a night out for kids and parents. All of this seamlessly executed like a fine symphony - well, it takes people who love what they are doing (almost all volunteers). It is amazing. I have never seen anything quite like it. Our family is forever changed by the kindness and love shown. But- also by the connections we made with other families. Watching Deric Milligan close out this retreat was an unbelievable gift. Milligan and his children are some of the most gracious, forgiving, peaceful people I have ever had the opportunity to meet. This organization will change your life and the lives of your kids and spouse. - - Kate Hackett Baer
We completed an unbelievable weekend in Orlando this weekend with Inheritance of Hope Ministry. We will tell you it was a source of encouragement and community we will never forget. At first we were all hesitant about going, but at the end of the weekend we were in a community that was so intentional and serving to us all.
Inheritance of Hope is an organization that has been a source of encouragement through this part of our journey.
