There are no words to express the impact that volunteering at InSync has had on my life. The connection with the resident animals and our opportunity to give them love and compassion is a blessing. I have been volunteering as much as I can for the past three years and each time I find solace in the care these animals receive.

Thank you Vicky and others for giving your life to take on any challenges.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I can't even think of a change, the medical care is 5 star, the animals are kept in safe environments and there is never an empty belly or a face that doesn't get a 100 kind words a day. I TRULY believe these animals appreciate there homes at InSync!

In-Sync is a wonderful and caring place for the BIG cats to live, play and
interact with other Kitties. They are all rescued from horrible conditions
and I know they appreciate all that we do for them. They Chuff! That's a
good thing. I volunteer for those special events and am now signed up
to take on more responsibilities, like cleaning cages, and maybe some
day train to feed. Vickie and all the volunteers here have one goal, to care
for these cats. Since this is a non-profit organization, we always need
outside support. After reading this, please come out to see us.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

watching all the wonderful work that the volunteers use their extra time and energy in especially, projects building huge cages and lofts for the Cats. It takes a lot of money and man power to put one together.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

hope we could afford a full time on-site veternarian with a clinic for the cats, so they wouldn't have to be transported, because of illness.

What a wonderful place for both the big cats and the volumteers. I love that the welfare and comfort of the animal is of the utmost importance at In-Sync Exotics. What a great place!!!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing how well taken care of and loved these animals are, they all deserve a place like In-Sync not the horrors (in some cases) of where they came from.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

not change a thing, I only wish I could help with the financial needs that are never ending.

I had worked with exotic cats for many years, but after retiring I missed them. I went to see several facilities in the area. Then I heard of In-sync Exotics and went for a visit. Eight years later I'm still there. In-Sync was created to rescue abandoned or abused exotic cats or those the owner could no longer care for. In my opinion it is what a sanctuary should be, a true safe haven for an animal to live the rest of its life at peace in a natural setting among huge trees and grass.
The Founder and president, Vicky Keahey, lives on the property and works over 12 hours every day for the cats. There are about 100 volunteers on the roster and Vicky will never ask anyone to do anything she wouldn't do or hasn't done herself. She makes sure each cat gets the healthiest diet possible, a huge habitat that is cleaned daily, swimming pools for the cats that enjoy water, enrichment activities for stimulation and the very best in medical care. She has even taken cats hundreds of miles to a vet specialists when treatment was not available locally. Vicky gives 100% of herself every day.
During the past eight years over 50 animals have been rescued and nine new habitats have been built. All done by the love of volunteers and the kindness of donors.
Five years ago a cat training program was started so medical procedures could be performed without having to use anesthesia. I have had the privilege of training three of our tigers.
As a caretaker and trainer at In-Sync the bond I've made with the cats has truly been a reward far greater than the work I've given.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

its grow over the years. The new programs that have been introduced: Training for Medical procedures, Cat Companion Program, Adopt a Cat program, Children for Cats, The Enrichment Team, Education Outreach, School Tours, Monthly Newsletter.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Find professionals to apply for Grants and do fundraising. I would like to find a way to guarantee financial security of In-Sync in the future through a planned giving program.

Sometimes people make foolish choices, one being they want a wild animal as a pet! They take on this Illegal endevor not knowing the proper diet, or care for this creature. Sometimes these foolish choices cause the life of the animal, unless the animal is fortunate enough to make its way to In-Sync. There said animal will get the proper care and diet for the remainder of it's life. The volunteers are trained and watched carefully by the staff. It is a safe and healthy environment, that I wish I had more time to be a part of!

I have seen animals come in covered in scabs instead of fur, so skinny they could barely stand, withen weeks they are starting to look better, then whamo, a beautiful healthy cat, if those cats could talk I am sure you would hear a very sad story with a happy ending. They love their Vickie and everyone who helps them.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Bring in a Ton of money and help them expand.

I recently became a volunteer at In-Sync Exotics and it has already been an incredible experience! Everytime I am there I am more impressed at how well the animals are taken care of, how clean the facility is, how happy the animals are, etc...

Everyone I have met at In-Sync is dedicated to helping the cats and making sure they have a wonderful life. It is amazing to see cats when they first arrive and how they are just a short time later. They go from scared, hungry and sick to happy healthy cats.

I also love the fact that they are family friendly, my kids love to go there. They have several events each year (on and off site) that help educate the public and get more people involved in helping bring animal cruelty to light.

Prior to working with In-Sync I had no idea that places like In-Sync are so terribly needed.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Try to think of more ways to continue educating the public.

I volunteered for about 2 years at InSync. I was always proud of the wonderful work I was a part of. I have seen cats in horrible conditions come to Insync and be loved into health and happiness. They're work is invaluable, these cats are treated like gold. I also know first hand that all donations go directly to taking care of the cats. This place is a god send for these cats. I wish all exotic cats (in captivity) could live at InSync.

Will you volunteer or donate to this organization?

At Insync ALL the money from donations is spent on the cats. Some sanctuaries may be prettier but that means they are spending their money on landscaping and not on the cats. Many of the cats have lived in deplorable conditions. Insync provides food, clean water and medicine to heal their body. Vicky has saved cats that no one thought would live.
Insync provides large (better than required by law) enclosures, playgrounds and pools with waterfalls for the tigers. Who love water.
It is healing their soul that can be the most difficult. Many cats have never walked on anything but concrete or even been outside. This is where Insync truly excels. These cats are LOVED and no matter how long it takes InSync heals their soul.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Everyway. The rescue of the cats from Leona and Poetry were especially moving for me. I saw the unforgiveable conditions the cats were living in. I saw how hard everyone worked to get these cats into an environment where they are loved and respected. If someone walked up and gave me 100,000.00. I would give it all to InSync.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Have little openings on the outside fences for vistors to use to take pictures of the cats.

I have been a volunteer at In-Sync Exotics for almost 3 years now, and it has been an amazing experience! It is truly incredible to see the personalities of lions, tigers, etc are as vast and different as human personalities. The cats are so happy now, which is a miracle considering where most of them came from. The sanctuary is amazing! And it is somewhere I enjoy taking my 3 young sons to every chance I get! They have enjoyed growing up around the big cats and they have become little animal rights advocates in their preschool and elementary schools!

I've been a volunteer for nearly 3 years and have helped with every aspect of their day-to-day routine at one time or another. They have a great volunteer program!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Win the lottery and help fund it privately, so they wouldn't have any financial worries :)

I began volunteering at ISE over two years ago and I know, without a doubt, that I have gotten way more from the cats than I have given. Not only have I learned from the cats, but I've learned so much from the other volunteers. The level of care these cats receive is phenomenal. Volunteers show up every day - in good weather and terrible - to clean cages, prepare food, serve food, administer meds, and so much more! The cats have so much room and get so much love! Of course, they give it right back!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I've seen animals show up malnourished, scared, diseased, and dying. Within a matter of days at ISE there are tremendous changes. By the time a few months have passed, they are sometimes not recognizable!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

The cats' cages are very clean but if I had to make changes, I'd say the non-cat areas should be cleaner, more welcoming.

I discovered In-Sync during the summer of 2008 and immediately fell in love with the place. I have always been an animal lover, so volunteering at an exotic cat sanctuary was right up my alley. Vicky K. has an amazing heart and puts her cats above anything else. I have witnessed the transformation of many cats from being in such bad shape at rescue, that it would seem they wouldn't want to live anymore. But Vicky and In-Sync gave them a reason to live and they are living out the rest of their lives with the care, love and dignity they all deserve. The sanctuary is located in a beautiful part of Wylie and has many trees shading the property. The enclosures are cleaned daily and the medical care the cats receive is top notch! It is also an educational facility, which raises awareness to the public about the plight of exotic cats in captivity. Safety is one of their upmost concerns and all of the enclosures have double chain link fences and roofs. I highly recommend In-Sync Exotics to anyone who is looking for something to do; and all of the money that is spent on admission or spent in the gift shop goes directly towards the care of the cats. The self guided tours allow visitors to tour the sanctuary at their own pace and take plenty of pictures. There are stories and pictures of each cat posted on the enclosures. Come out and visit, you will love it!

I have personally witnessed the amazing transformations of many cats over the last 3 years I have been a volunteer. Volunteering is very rewarding.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would not change a thing. Unless I won the lottery, then I would give them money to build a bunch of new enclosures for all of the new rescues that keep coming in.
