By far the most caring sanctuary I have seen. I’ve spent 8 months now with In-Sync and still every day it amazes me more. The facility itself is set up brilliantly as to allow volunteers to access enclosures safely without ever having direct contact with the cats. The cats each have a place to call home and a playground area that is shared, everyday at some point each cats gets playground time. Cats are always well fed and happy, you can see it in their faces, they love their human companionship (tigers coming up to you and chuffing, lions with their ooo’s). It truly is amazing what owner Vicky has achieved with them and this place bein g completely unselfish and only ever has the cats best interest in mind.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

In the time that I have been at In-Sync we have rescued & given home to 2 bobcats, a tiger cub, an older male lion, 4 cougars and 4 lions. Successfully have released a bobcat to the wild, cured the tiger cub of ringworm, and also cared for over a month and placed 20 cats from abandoned and mistreated conditions. Luckily I was given the opportunity to assist with some of these rescues and to see these mistreated cats now is definitely been a happy ending all thanks to the wonderful work at In-Sync.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Rid them of their financial worries. Unfortunately it cost a lot to feed over 60 big cats and build new enclosures, while maintaining older enclosures and stacking up veterinary bills.

I interned at In-Sync for three months this past winter and I have to say it was the best experience of my life. Vicky and all of the volunteers there take amazing care of the cats residing there, and are truly invested in the cats welfare. The work was hard, there is no doubt of that, but being able to contribute and work with all the cats was amazing. After meeting certain requirements, I was able to participate with their Cat Companions program (sitting with a specific cat for at least 30 minutes, talking to them and keeping them company) and their Vet Training Program (working with a specific cat, with the help of another trainer, teaching movements that will help the vet access the cat easier without having to sedate the cat). They made me, an outsider from Boston, feel at home and welcomed.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

when a bobcat (Lydia) showed up, hurt and needing attention, they took her in and got her vet help, and now due to her age and that someone ground down her canines, has a permanent home at In-Sync. Others would have just put her to sleep or let or die in the wild, In-Sync got her help and took her in when they realized she wouldn't survive by herself.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

give them a way around finances! that has been the biggest problem, just keeping these cats healthy and fed is a large financial endeavor, not to mention all the vet bills.

I have been a volunteer at Insync Exotics for a little over two years. I stopped in to visit and find out what Insync was about and I was hooked. This is a rescue facility. Insync does NOT buy, sell or breed these exotic cats. Most of the cats come with illnesses, broken bones, and broken spirits. To see the transformation in these cats once they have had some medical attention and basic care (like a clean environment, food, water and love), is incredibly rewarding. We have had tigers 6-8 years old rescued from a breeding facility that had never even been given names. How sad is that. For a facility that is run on volunteer help and the community donations, it is extremely well run (thank you Vicky!) The grounds and animal enclosures are always clean, everyone is well trained for the safety of themselves and the cats, and the animals are now living a much more fulfilling life. There is so much heart and sole (and sweat) that goes into this sanctuary, it is truly amazing.

To see an exotic cat come to Insync Exotics that could not lift their head because they are so sick to now running a playing is an amazing sight. Cats that had no hair because they had worms and/or sores from living in their own feces now have beautiful exotic cat markings and full coats. Cats that came so food aggressive from lack of food and water are now easily fed and trusting of their next meal. These things I have experienced and are truly rewarding

One thing I would like is for the sanctuary to have an on-site vet building. Unfortunately the funds received go to housing and feeding the cats. We have a training program that trains a cat to go into a vet-shoot and receive general vacinations or have blood drawn. However, we still sometimes need x-rays or other medical procedures done and it would be helpful not to have to transport these exotic cats off-site to do so.

In-Sync Exotics is an amazing group of dedicated individuals who give their all for the good of the big cats they rescue. I am amazed at their hard work and success and I wish I had the time to spend with them helping these beautiful animals. Their facility provides large enclosures with "play areas" for the cats with enrichment activities to keep them active, plus pools for the tigers! They engage the community in learning about their rescue programs thru effective use of social media as well as local publications and mass media. They have special events during the year, such as the Big Cat Birthday Bash and their Annual Easter Egg Hunt which brings out the local families to the sanctuary. The work they have done with local, state and national animal experts is outstanding. In-Sync has made great progress in the area of providing treatment to sick and injured big cats in the least stressful possible way using conditioning techniques. Vickey and her team of volunteers are to be commended for doing such an outstanding job. It makes me proud to say that I support their work.

Our family began volunteering for In-Sync Exotics in 2007. Since then we have seen so many animals rescued and nurtured back to health by their highly dedicated, often full time + VOLUNTEER staff. Their devotion to these animals is truly inspiring and even lead to my oldest son replacing a roof on their commissary for his Eagle Scout project.
Personally, I feel the unconditional love and dedication to these animals shows up most when there is nothing left to do for them. The compassion I have witnessed on countless occasions is what this world needs more of for sure.

Thank you In-Sync Exotics!!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in the people that I have met and the animals which have touched my heart. I will never forget Charlie the Cougar, Midas the beautiful Golden Tabby Tiger and Diva, the often grumpy but ever beautiful Black Leopard.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Give them the space to grow and provide them with the grant funding they need to give these cats the care they deserve. None of them asked for the mistreatment they received before being rescued by In-Sync Exotics.

After hearing about In-Sync from a friend and following their stories on Facebook, I decided it was finally time to go and check things out for myself. So on a recent trip back home to visit family, we all piled in the car and headed out to see the cats. My 2 year old son loves the zoo, and he loved In-Sync. The animals are so much closer, and it feels like you can really get to see them in their world. It was such a wonderful experience. Also, from Facebook, I constantly read about the new animals they get, and the pictures of where they come from. It is beyond words for what In-Sync does for these animals. The people of In-Sync offer these cats a new life, and they are the definition of GREAT!

When I first visited In-Sync approximately 3 years ago I thought this was going to be another one of those road side attractions that just want your money. Boy was I surprised, not only was this not the case but the facility was clean and well run. The cats that I saw were well cared for and healthy. I was able to read the stories about the cats and see the before and after pictures. I have been coming to In-Sync for about two and a half years before I finally signed up to be a Volunteer. The couple who run In-Sync do a really good job of maintaining the place and I like to think of them as the cat whisperers. When the cats are either rescued or arrive they are usually in need of major attention and they get that attention whether it is medical or just love. You really have to come on out and see what I mean to be able to believe what is being said. So come on and check out In-Sync for yourself, you will believe in miracles.

I was actually able to help with a recent rescue and was able to see first hand how good intentions can go bad. This rescue involved 20 cats that were living in deplorable conditions. Granted I only was there for one day of the rescue but that was enough for me.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would get them an on sight medical facility so that they would not have to drive the cats to the facilities. This way the cats would not have to endure the stress of travel.

We love taking visitors to In-Sync when they come to N. Texas to visit us. The staff and volunteers are truly dedicated to the cause of rescuing and caring for the beautiful animals in their care. Our daughter already has plans to volunteer there when she is old enough, and I am taking a group of co-teachers there as a fellowship this Fall. One of my prayers is that many, many more people will visit this remarkable place and donate their time and money to help keep In-Sync running.

I first became involved after an article in our local paper. I donated a large sum to help a Tiger with cancer by adopting him. That was several years ago, and I have adopted numerous cats since then. Why? Because these cats get the very best of care, regardless of the cost. This place is better than any zoo. The visitor can interact with the cats and see their individual personalities. My father, who was confined to wheelchair, loved to visit this place every time he was in town. Together we funded the visitor center so that others could enjoy this wonderful place and could buy souvenirs that would help support their programs. I've visited several other similar facilities in the area, and none even come close to the quality of this facility. It may be too small for Charity Navigator to list, but it deserves top billing and more publicity.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

watching its growth over the past 7 years and interacting with the animals. It is possible to relate to individual cats on a personal level if one takes the time to speak to and play with them (outside their cages of course!) Sheila, a white lioness, loves my crazy gray hair. New cages, new pools, new visitor center, new animals....it's all part of a wonderful place where these animals can be safe and loved.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

find a donor who could provide an endowment so they wouldn't have to worry about funds every time a new animal needs to be rescued or fed or treated by the vet. When I started supporting them, they had about 30 animals--now they are up to about 70--and they have to turn animals away. Too bad money is the limiting factor here; the staff and volunteers are beyond committed.
