Working with IAPW has been a wonderful experience. In addition to giving back to children in need, it's rewarding to know there is a long term positive impact on the kids. One example is when we had an event and the exercise was to draw a picture of what In a perfect world meant to them. This young girl drew a picture of a woman buying something on the street corner. After asking her to explain her drawing she said "In my perfect world, my mom wouldn't buy drugs and would spend more time with me and my sister". It reminded me of how impressionable young kids can be and how essential it is to be involved.

i heard about this org through a friend who had volunteered at another one of their projects. i got in touch with them. i was able to volunteer at one of their arts days. i was really impressed to see the founder there and i believe there were members of the their board there as well. each of them taking the time to work with a child one on one. the only negative comment i would have is that they do lots of good work, but there are not as many opportunities to get involved personally. and i like to volunteer!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the way they were able to connect through the arts with children who were simply disconnected and detached. the children lit up when they saw the arts supplies and knew that there was a caring adult there to share the day with them.
