Contacted by telephone to donate to the Illinois Police Association, said yes, but knew I would research first. When the letter arrived a statement on the back side said "a large portion of the gross proceeds raised goes to defray the cost of this appeal". Looking at the 990 from last year, it appears that 84% of the money taken in goes to the fundraisers. Sorry, I do not support these overpaid fundraisers!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Reorganize...a 501c3 organization should not be expending such a large percentage of receipts to get those receipts!
