"The Rabbi is very dynamic and entertaining, however, there have been issues concerns and complaints. There have been issues surrounding the parishioners. Some have cited that many of the participants are weird, strange and off-beat. There have been concerns surrounding overt and covert rampant discrimination Jew or non-Jew alike against those the established officers do not fit their criteria. There have been complaints that the leadership does not properly background check those that monitor the children." There is also a bigger question and nobody seems to know or concerned how their monetary contributions are being used. There does not seem to be any accountability.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

This is last hold out of the Reform and Conservative Movement. Sadly, IKAR is representative the last gasp and breath of the Reform and Conservative Movement is being played out in death throes. My father taught no offshoot of Orthodox Judaism last more than a few generations. Unless they adopt proper halacha their is no continuity or future for this group

IKAR is one of the most exciting and innovative spiritual communities I have ever been a part of. IKAR is a young and dynamic congregation dancing on the edges of serious Jewish engagement promoting a solid awareness that as Jews we have a clear mandate to work to help repair the world and make it a better In addition to our young members, IKAR is now attracting middle age members who can appreciate the personalized and unique way that this community addresses everything that it does. It is a true blessing to have Rabbi Sharon Brous as our spiritual leader.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing the ways that this organization and the rabbi is able to bring Jews together in serious Jewish engagement. It feels like IKAR is one huge caring community.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

that it challenges me to grow, learn, study and engage in more gemilut hasadim and tzedakah opportunities.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

amazing. Everyone is treated as a blessing with unlimited potential. It simply doesn't get any better learning from Rabbi Sharon Brous. Melissa Balaban, the CEO, is a wonderous magician of organizational excellence and caring outreach.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

*open a preschool for the 40+ children being born into this community each year. *hire Rabbi Brous an Assistant Rabbi *Purchase a building to give this community a personal home. *open an adult Jewish studies center

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week
