This community is still my home, even though I moved across the country to become a Jewish leader in my own right. I am continually grateful to Ikar for inspired davvening, Torah, and friendships.

It also existed on the east coast. If it was financially viable to bring on more staff.

Simhat Torah at IKAR was incredible. It reminded me that the Jewish community is not dying. We are not disappearing, we just need to be met at a place that is comfortable and challenging. You have found that crux and I am so thankful for it. It was a very special night, but then again most days at IKAR are very special.

After several years of searching for a Jewish community and spiritual home, I was thrilled to find IKAR. From the first time I arrived at IKAR I knew it was a truly unique place. Now, years later, I am still consistently inspired by Rabbi Sharon Brous and by the ways in which the community engages Jews of all backgrounds and interests. There is a place for everyone at IKAR, whether it be serious Torah study, beautiful and soulful prayer, or participation in a variety of social justice initiatives. I am proud to be an active volunteer and member of the board in this time of great growth and opportunity for IKAR.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

create a center for Jewish outreach that would become a model for emerging Jewish communities targeting young adults throughout the country and the world.

I was searching for a synagogue and found IKAR to be an incredibly inspiring Jewish experience. Rabbi Sharon Brous is a very charismatic leader, and under her leadership IKAR combines spiritual inspiration and a strong commitment to community outreach and action. IKAR is a very friendly, young-thinking shul, and attracts people of all ages.

Superb. No other word for it.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Maintain its programs and expand. One desirable new thing would be an inspiring Jewish preschool. I don't have kids, but I still think that would be a great idea.

IKAR touches my soul. It is a place that allows me to stop, recharge and remember who I am and pushes me to be the person I want to be in the world. The organization is constantly striving and improving. The Rabbi is brilliant and authentic. Ikar is an integral part of my family's life-- thank goodness.

In my opinion IKAR is the most thought-provoking and engaging Jewish institution in the city. Worship services at IKAR are inspiring. And the Rabbi and davening team continue to innovate with new melodies, excercises in prayer, and torah discussion in order to improve on an already excellent worship experience. Politically and socially IKAR is a highly engaged organization with big plans. It's approach is admirable and visionary.

Every time I come to IKAR (which is becoming more and more often) I find something or someone that inspires me to do my part in helping heal the world. Through IKAR, I've started cooking meals for a nearby homeless shelter, organized volunteers for the Purim justice event, and devoted my Saturday mornings to teaching five-year-olds about social action. I look forward to many more wonderful opportunities in the future.

IKAR is the most spiritual and giving, environment I've come into contact with in all of my adult years. I believe everyone assocaited with IKAR has a connection to this energy we call God, to live life to its fullest through the constant connection off giving. It is a true honor to be a part of this community... and encourage everyone to experience and grow with the strength of this organiztion. Out of a little idea to form a Jewish community of giving people; this synagogue accepts everyone, gives everyone love and opportunity to join, regardless of income or background. Not only is it a living testament to what can be achieved but they are an inspiration to what we can achieve, do and become as individuals....

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The way they concstantly give and give and continue to give

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Perfect.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Have it's own building, hire more people to help and probably give much of it away in order to help other communities.

Ways to make it better...

I was able to share it with more people.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Lack of sufficient money and the same people volunteer time and time again - might be getting a little burned out.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Rabbi Brous has a connection and speaks the words of GOD in a way where you know without any doubt, she is guided by God and all that listen to her are always moved in a guided direction...
