Programs:

Ending Canada's commercial seal hunt is IFAW's founding campaign. This hunt is inhumane, unnecessary, wasteful, and presents a serious animal welfare and conservation concern. In spite of the fact that the majority of Canadians oppose Canada's commercial seal hunt, and that global markets for seal products appear to be decreasing, the Canadian Government continues to support this hunt financially and set high and unsustainable allowable catches. All four major political parties currently support Canada's commercial seal hunt.

IFAW has been tireless supporter for animals, esp fighting for a ban on ivory. When I was researching what Eco-friendly flooring I could use for my new apt. IFAW was so very helpful in helping me figure out what we're good and not as good choices. Yay IFAW!

I am thankful IFAW for bringing my attention to problems that I would otherwise not know about. I also appreciate the ease of signing petitions. They do amazing work and are relentless, for which I am appreciative.

IFAW is a small org that pays huge salaries. The CEO gets $325K; the former CEO who retired two years ago, is still paid $350K (how that works, I have no idea). Everyone else on the management team earns $175K.n Charity Navigator gives IFAW the lowest possible rating for financial performance. The director of corp comm's husband reports to her, a gross conflict of interest. IFAW spends millions on a few pet projects (seals, elephants and whales, particularly) yet has very little to show for their efforts spanning many, many years. Donate to animal rescue -- it's a worthy cause -- but give it to orgs that actually have a record of success and not to orgs that have bloated, slow-acting leadership. Sign me, former, and wiser, donor.

I stopped donating after I learned the exec team is paid outrageous sums ((millions). Only 61 percent of what they take in goes to programs and if you search the media for success stories of their work, you'll find very little. Charity Navigator gives them only two stars. Notably, they receive only one star for financial performance. IFAW's revenues come mainly from outside the US and I suspect that's because they have so littlie credibility or visibility in the US. International Fund for Animals Welfare, Inc. is an organization which devotes so much effort, resources to help wild life welfare, they have been doing an amazing job in the animal wild kingdom. I am a strong supporter of this great organization. I have named them as one of the beneficiaries in my life insurance. I urge you to support their work and donate monthly, even as little as $5 , 7. or 8. It helps tremendously, with more public support, this organization can do more for the animals welfare, animals cannot speak for themselves, so we human need to stand up for them, be their voice and savers.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

just keep doing what they are doing for a long time already.

This organization is fantastic. They will show you results for what you donate, and more importantly, truly care about the animals well-being. The work they do is the harder path, but trying to solve the right problems. They care about domestic cats and dogs to rare species in Africa/India, in particular Rhino/Tigers/Elephants who are amongst the most vulnerable.

The ACL Animal Care League in Oak Park is a clean place and the animals look healthy and well cared. I am in the process of volunteering for them.

Of the options offered I selected "volunteer" since "spam recipient" was not offered.

I have NEVER given anything to the IFAW and never will. Yet, I receive more e-mail begging for money I do not have from the IFAW than any other e-mail source!!!!

Requests that the spamming stop are unheeded.

I despise spam.

Thanks to the actions of this spamming charity and the charities I actually have donated to my donating days are over.... permanently... even if I do regain an income.

$20 given locally to help feed some homeless folks and a written request to NOT spend ANY money seeking another donation resulted in a flurry of mailings that quickly more than used the amount I donated.

That and other incidents and now the SPAM attack from IFAW means nothing, ever, from me.

Even if I win the multi-million dollar Lottery.

Srilanka has an elephant population of around 7000.But the human elephant conflicts is taking it's toll. Thus elephants are killed or injured on a regular basis.Unfortunately Srilanka lacks trucks to transport elephants. Will someone be kind enough to put me in touch with a charitable organization to donate a truck to transport wild elephants in Srilanka?
