As an expert in HADR Radio Communications I truly understand the power of swift and clear communications. Humanity Road is one of the most inspiring and relevant non profits that exist in this sector today. Their obvious passion for helping people during the humanitarian disasters is equal only to the extraordinary results they achieve when they "deploy". The aggregated data that is collected via the various sources of social media they analyse helps guide the big organisations more efficiently in helping the affected people. However they also live and die by the adage that they must always keep the human in humanitarian relief, it may all be online but it always more about the people.

I chose to donate to Humanity Road because they are providing a service to the public for communications. This was one of the biggest gaps during Hurricane Katrina. Effective communications will help save lives. I always know I can rely on Humanity Road for the best information.

I have a very small budget but wanted to help in a real way. I make a small donation monthly to this organization and I see what they do on a very small budget. Its amazing. I'm very happy with their work and their transparency.

Through the years the composition of disaster response has changed dramatically. Individuals can now interact and experience world events at up to the minute speed of technology. While social media is relatively new; it is the technology of today, its transformative effect has captured new and creative ways to intertwine the mass collaboration of participants involved in a disaster. Humanity Road has captured the value of social media through their passion in helping people not only domestically but internationally as well. Their use of social media tools provides the opportunity to turn individuals into critical assets during national or man-made disasters. There is significant value to be gained from Humanity Road that establishes a social media presence and actively sets high expectations of its response capabilities, volunteers and other emergency response organizations.
