This is a fantastic organization. Don’t fall for Bruce Muncil’s comment. Contrary to his phony claim, I’ve been informed that he has never been a donor to HFA. Those of us who actually are supporters can attest to HFA’s high ethical standards and professionalism. More importantly, HFA
continues to be phenomenally successfully at combating animal cruelty. That’s why, after more than 20 years, I remain a proud supporter.

I have found the organization unprofessional in responsiveness to requests and extremely unprofessional in dealing with donors.

HFA Campaign Against Factory Farming - Subject of HBO Documentary

HFA secured a conviction in this case for the way in which piglets were being brutalized. This was the very first time in the state’s history that there was a successful cruelty prosecution of a hog factory.

For
the first time ever in the United States, a feature documentary regarding the mistreatment of animals within the pork industry has been broadcast by a major cable network. HBO’s Death on A Factory Farm focuses exclusively on the groundbreaking work of the Humane Farming Association, detailing HFA’s undercover investigation of Wiles Farm, the notorious hog factory located in Wayne County, Ohio.

The abuses uncovered by HFA at Wiles Farm include the starvation of sick and injured pigs, forcing pigs to live in their own waste, severe overcrowding and cannibalism, beatings, inhumane transport – and the hanging and slow death by asphyxiation of struggling and fully conscious pigs. Against overwhelming odds, HFA secured a conviction in this case for the way in which piglets were being brutalized.

The Humane Farming Association (HFA) continues to be our nation’s most effective and credible organization working on farm animal issues. Don’t be misled by HSUS’s smear tactics. The HFA has been instrumental in the passage of anti-cruelty laws on a wide range of issues. From prohibiting the sale and slaughter of downed animals, to the passage of animal abandonment legislation. From outlawing the transport and slaughter of horses for human consumption, to the inclusion of farm animals in animal abandonment laws. HFA was also responsible for introducing the first legislation in U.S history targeting the cruel confinement of animals on factory farms. These groundbreaking actions set the framework for an entire movement. And that’s all in addition to running Suwanna Ranch, the nation’s largest farm animal sanctuary and emergency care center. This is just some of why HFA is my favorite animal protection group!

The Humane Farming Association is not what it seems. They have not sponsored a single piece of legislation that has made it through to a law. They are currently attacking the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) regarding pending legislation regarding animal welfare. Donate to the HSUS and be sure your money goes to the cause you want. - to protect all animals.

I really believe in this cause and would send a check today if you had a 4 star rating today (June12,2012). I hope you can correct the problems that are giving you a 3 star rating because your cause is important to me and to all the animals who are suffering tremendously every minute of their lives.

Humane Farming Association is making the most difference for farm animals with their numerous campaigns fighting for sane animal welfare laws. There is no other group in the USA or even worldwide with the same impact. Plus they have numerous animals rescued at their farm sanctuaries.

I am very happy to see the four-star rating. HFA is a sort of midpoint for me- I am not vegan/vegetarian and find that other pro-farm-animal groups are often speaking for vegetarianism. I know that isn't a realistic goal for the majority of Americans and think that humane farming is the next best thing. I personally only buy animal products from a local farm but I know a lot of people don't have that option.
One unnamed vegetarian agenda group told me acidly, "There is no such thing as humane slaughter" when I asked if they had a list of humane animal producers.

Don't know enough but am happy with the four stars.

It would make me feel more comfortable making future donations if they were excerpts of the articles and video stated in the organization description.

I am not certain if the organization is non-profit or a commercial enterprise, that is a deciding factor also in making future
contributions.

The idea of an environment where these beings are treated humanely is worthy of attention and respect. Until the day that mankind comes to realize that they do not need to slaughter others for life sustenance, organizations with this specific intent are essential and necessary if mankind is to have any conscience.

I can bear witness to seeing a variety of creatures slaughtered needlessly and in a disrespectful and inhumane manner.

Try using the numerous "free" space many web sites offer to provide credibilty to the main objective and the organization's veracity.
