My husband and I donate every year year by going to t he Hospice Ball. We have a wonderful time and know that our donation for tickets and date night table are going to a really great cause. I believe in Hospice care because, after being in health care for almost 20 years, I know how needed this kind of care is needed. These days, people want to be at home when their final days come and that is where the hospice care comes into play. Missoula Hospice is, in my mind is the best at what they provide for those in need of the end time cares.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

By having a great time at the Ball. The organization sold alot of tickets and auctioned off alot of wonderful items.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I think for now they are doing all they can to inform the surroundging towns about Hospice is really all about.

My first interaction with the Hospice Care Foundation was in the Fall of 2010 through my place of work in Missoula. I am the Director of Catering at a local hotel and I had inquired about placing a BID on their 2011 Annual Ball and began to create relationships with the individuals involved. We were not chosen to cater the event, but did have other opportunities to work with the organization and the committee memebers.

During this same time, my Grandmother had began to use Hospice Care (not in Missoula), and we got to know the individuals that vounteered and took care of her. If it weren't for the people who support these organizations and their services, there would be so many of our loved ones without the care that they need in their last moments of life. The Hospice Care Foundation is an organization that provides support to local hospice care facilities within the community. By helping to reduce the high costs on the families and/or patients who may not have the necessary resources needed in obtaining this kind of care, they offer a service that is so valuable to the patient and their family.

I was fortunate enough to experience the amount of support that the Missoula community has for this organization, by attending their 2011 Annual Ball. There were approximately 800-1000 people that were in attendance, making this event one of Missoula's largest Non-Profit Fundraisers each year. People from all walks of life and all different backgrounds gathered for an evening of dancing, eating, and supporting a great cause.

The only change that I would make for the organization is to find a more effective way to get the Hospice Care Foundation name in more people's mouths all year long, and not only during the time of the Ball.

I helped out with the Osprey Baseball Game back in 2010. It was great to see the community come together and recognize the importance of Hospice Care. We were thanked and supported throughout the night.

The organization has done a lot of work with volunteers who have raised funds to support hospice care in the Missoula area. They have been in business for over 30 years and are fiscally responsible stewards of thier donatio ns. As they turned from a volunteer group to a viable nonprofit, they have shown that the staff and board works well together which ensures fiscal and programmatic growth.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The areas of programmatic growth and fundraising appeals.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Have them add another special event and award larger grants.

More feedback...

Very Well

A lot

Will you recommend this organization to others?

Definitely

What is unique about this organization?

The are the only "Foundation" in the area which is not affiated with any one provider thus they are able to educate the community on hospice and fiscally support multiple agencies. They also make referrals to all agencies and thus promote the local providers unilaterally.
