This program is a wonderful experience for children and adults with special needs. Therapeutic horseback riding has proven to increase muscle control as well as other physical capabilities in addition to mental exercises. Great strides are shown in children with autism, as an example. The joy we see on these students faces before, during and after classes is more than enough payment for the time we volunteer with this program.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
volunteering with them for the past 6 years.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
do everything I could to expand this program. Things like a covered arena so sessions in bad weather could still be held.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Seeing the varied results the students achieve and the total involvement of all volunteers.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
expand the program and serve ALL of the children & adults that want to participate in this program. The waiting list is very long!
Ways to make it better...
rain didn't cancel riding sessions.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
raising money to keep the program going and the cost low to students.
One thing I'd also say is that...
this is one of the most enjoyable and satisfying programs I have ever volunteered with!
