I have many family members and friends that volunteer their time and energy every week to HPS. The difference they are making for these horses is amazing. Seeing the before and after stories of a rescue effort is so touching. I have visited the horse farm and saw the many horses, but also the many faces of volunteers working to give each horse a better tomorrow. Thank you to each volunteer and donor for your time and effort for this mission.

I had the pleasure of visiting this amazing place! It is very obvious that these horses receive the best care possible (look at some of the before and after pictures)! They even get chiropractic visits if needed! Their food is specific according to their health needs also. The volunteers are angels - they always could use more help though! The work is therapy for the volunteers to - physically, emotionally and spiritually - being around these horses is healing work in of itself! Joanie is the BEST! I tell everyone about HPS if they have any interest in horses!

My mother is a volunteer at HPS and she loves it. I have been out to visit with my 2 year old daughter and it was a great experience. I think it is wonderful that all the horses are allowed to roam free in and out of the barns and pastures as they please. Unless there is a specific reason why they cannot be around other horses, due to sickeness or due to just coming in it is great that they are not contained all hours of the day. It allows the horses to be horses and to feel safe, free and loved. When we visited there were several horses that absolutely adored my daughter. My daughter was overwhelmed with how many of them wanted to be right next to her, and that shows me they all have so much love to give. If you have never been around horses and young children it truely is an experience. So many horses seem to bond and immediatly protect young children like they can tell there innocence and love immediatly. Its awesome. My mother loves to be apart of the work that is done at HPS. It is so hard to fund 1 horse let alone 40+ at one time. They say it takes a village to raise a family... :)
