Hope Stone reaches hundreds of children a year with mindful arts education taught by passionate, seasoned professional artists in multiple disciplines. The instructors teach love, respect, self discipline, and countless other invaluable life skills while providing the highest quality instruction. The joy of a Hope Stone classroom is indescribable.
I have been involved with Hope Stone for over 3 years. This organization has a terrific vision and offers first rate programs. There CEO and staff operate with the highest levels of integrity. The ongoing outreach to bring art to those without access has been something to watch and be a part of. If you attend any Hope Stone event you will see children and adults transformed before your eyes.
It is truly amazing the importance of non-profit art programs in the overall education process for society today. I am continually in awe of the outreach and the profound success Hope Stone brings to children whom have had art programs completely removed from their educational programs. This success is what has inspired me to stay involved with the program. Our children have grown up with this program and have gone on to give back by working with the amazing professional teaching staff in the classrooms today.
A dynamic organization that continues to push art to the forefront. Inspiring, creative and a community gem.
Hope Stone is an amazing organization, bringing the arts to at-risk youth through a dynamic program called Kids Play. A year-long drumming, theater and creative movement class, kids explore, grow, gain confidence, learn to work together and ooze creativity. In addition, scholarships are given to many kids in town to take various arts classes. Finally, Hope Stone Dance Company is the toast of Houston's modern dance scene and opens up hundreds of seats to at-risk kids for their performances. Jane Weiner is a phenomenal visionary, promoting that art not only heals, but is necessary for a healthy and vibrant life.
I have been a beginner ballet student at Hope Stone. The teachers care about your progress and Hope Stone brings the creme de la creme of ballet dancers to teach. It is such an honor to be in their presence and help those that may not be quite on the same level they are, ballet-wise. I attended a performance in October 2009 of Hope Stone Dance Company and was blown away by the incredible choreography, the thought behind such a magical work of art and feel extremely fortunate to have Jane Weiner amongst our artists in Houston. One of the best parts is the generosity of giving 800 Houston-area children the opportunity to attend at no cost and to introduce & enrich their lives with great art. I am extremely honored to be on the Board of Directors of Hope Stone, Inc., and am impressed with the detail, thought and enthusiasm that goes into everything they do. Jane and Hope Stone garner the highest respect amongst peers and the community in Houston and it is apparent with the dedication of its Board of Directors, patrons, students, parents and all involved.
I am a current Board Member for Hope Stone Inc. I am constantly inspired & awe struck by the creativity & energy of all the individuals who come together for this organization. The are bright, talented, energetic & truly have a passion for what they do!!
Hope Stone is a wonderful community for kids & adults to nourish their soul and access the arts! I always see smiling faces at Hope Stone...no matter if its an adult ballet class, the Kids Play kids rehearsing or if I'm lucky enough to be there when the company is in rehearsals, its a good place. This past fall ('09) at the "The Village of Waltz" performance was an example of how the arts can effect childrens lives. I've never been in a room where there were hundreds of kids in a theatre and they were quietly transfixed by the performance on stage. Afterwards, the conversations & reviews overheard were priceless. By the way...with the support of generous contributions, it was possible for these children to come to the theatre, experience a live professional dance company and understand the opportunities available to them at no cost. The Hope Stone teachers, kids, dancers & the staff offer the rest of us/me the chance to be a part of something wonderful. Maybe, you might consider contributing or joining us? Who doesn't like to smile?
I have been involved with Hope Stone for a number of years, both on their Board and as an adult student of ballet. This has got to be the most welcoming, nurturing arts organization in the region. What other dance company donates an entire section of their main performance each year free to kids who might never otherwise attend an arts/dance performance?
