At Hope Stone we believe in Mindfulness Arts Education and are dedicated to this concept in all aspects of our work in the community. Founded in 1997 by its current President & CEO, Jane Weiner, Hope Stone conveys the intrinsic value of the arts through education programs tailored to suit the needs of specific populations of children and adults. Our children’s program (Hope Stone Kids) reaches out to students in a variety of school settings, using highly skilled artists from the artistic disciplines of music, dance, and theater. Hope Stone’s professional dance company (Hope Stone Dance) stages compelling and accessible new works that challenge, entertain, and educate audiences. Recently, Hope Stone has successfully adapted the time-tested methods used in its youth programming to create an arts outreach program for special populations (The Hope Project).

This place isn't glitzy and perfect - the parking could be better, studio could be larger... But it has a big heart and brilliantly serves a diverse clientele. Jane and her crew work tirelessly - whether it's class offerings or dance performances - they keep things fresh which can be hard to do when you've been around for a while. What keeps me going back to their adult classes time after time is the commitment to quality and ability to attract world-class teachers and musicians. Thanks Hope Stone for being a sanctuary for the soul and a "chapel of the arts."

Hope Stone Inc's 3-fold mission has something for everyone. There are classes for adults, teens, and kids with scholarship opportunities. There are dance performances that help raise funds, promote causes, and raise the level and diversity of the arts in Houston. And finally, the arts outreach programs for at risk youth. As a frequenter of their adult classes, you can't beat the quality of their teachers paired with the laidback and welcoming vibes. Jane's really given Houston and the arts community quite a gift!

Hope Stone has been a fantastic resource and an important part of my three kids' lives. Dance, dramatic expression, music, photography -- for years, at various times, my kids have grown and been immeasurably enriched with the outstanding programs provided by Jane Weiner and her dedicated staff. The cost? Zero. The value? Priceless. Houston without Hope Stone would be a city without a soul.

i have danced since i was three years old, but after college i got away from it. after that, finding a challenging yet WELCOMING adult dance class became really difficult. until i found hope stone... every time i walk in there, i not only feel like part of a family, but i feel confident and like a real dancer. as long as you have the passion for dance and community, hope stone is the perfect studio, no matter your age or dance level. it's simply the best.

I have had the opportunity to work with Hope Stone in Houston and have to say that this is a First Class Organization. Setting the gold standard for other organizations who look to make a difference in their community. Highly recommended.

Hope Stone is a haven for all ages. My mother, who is 82, has been doing Tai Chi at the studio twice a week for a year and the experience has given her renewed strength, balance, and confidence. Mom was also asked to participate in the company's onstage performance, and now she can waltz too.

Hope Stone is amazing! Their dance performances are innovative and impactful. Their teachers are caring and well trained in their technique. The kids bloom in this environment that fosters creativity and curiosity. It is the real deal and an organization that any parent would love for their child to be a part of.
