Reviews for Hope Stone, Inc

This place isn't glitzy and perfect - the parking could be better, studio could be larger... But it has a big heart and brilliantly serves a diverse clientele. Jane and her crew work tirelessly - whether it's class offerings or dance performances - they keep things fresh which can be hard to do when you've been around for a while. What keeps me going back to their adult classes time after time is the commitment to quality and ability to attract world-class teachers and musicians. Thanks Hope Stone for being a sanctuary for the soul and a "chapel of the arts."

Hope Stone Inc's 3-fold mission has something for everyone. There are classes for adults, teens, and kids with scholarship opportunities. There are dance performances that help raise funds, promote causes, and raise the level and diversity of the arts in Houston. And finally, the arts outreach programs for at risk youth. As a frequenter of their adult classes, you can't beat the quality of their teachers paired with the laidback and welcoming vibes. Jane's really given Houston and the arts community quite a gift!

Hope Stone has been a fantastic resource and an important part of my three kids' lives. Dance, dramatic expression, music, photography -- for years, at various times, my kids have grown and been immeasurably enriched with the outstanding programs provided by Jane Weiner and her dedicated staff. The cost? Zero. The value? Priceless. Houston without Hope Stone would be a city without a soul.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the visible impact that participation over the years has had on my children.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Give them the financial resources to expand while keeping alive the spirit, dedication and program quality that makes Hope Stone, Hope Stone.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Their passion to not just help as many children as possible, but to really focus on each kid and try to serve his/her needs.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

100% professional. A joy to watch and be around.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Offer these incredible programs to more children. Inhabit a larger space. Employ more of the same type of high quality staff.

Ways to make it better...

Jane had more staff and more space to enable smaller classes for children.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Financial.

One thing I'd also say is that...

"What he said."

i have danced since i was three years old, but after college i got away from it. after that, finding a challenging yet WELCOMING adult dance class became really difficult. until i found hope stone... every time i walk in there, i not only feel like part of a family, but i feel confident and like a real dancer. as long as you have the passion for dance and community, hope stone is the perfect studio, no matter your age or dance level. it's simply the best.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the constant high level of energy- new teachers, projects for kids, community involvement, and a very high level of dance instruction in a relaxed environment.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

all very energetic and passionate. and SWEET! somehow everyone at hope stone is just nice and open and lovely.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

transform the lives of children and adults in houston. every child in houston could have access to dance, music and art, and parents could have a positive, enriching place to send their kids.

Hope Stone is a haven for all ages. My mother, who is 82, has been doing Tai Chi at the studio twice a week for a year and the experience has given her renewed strength, balance, and confidence. Mom was also asked to participate in the company's onstage performance, and now she can waltz too.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

amazing, kind and generous.
