It is not often that one finds a company that so clearly gives back more than it is given, but Hope Stone unmistakably rises to the top of this list. I have had the privilege of spending countless hours each week working with Jane and her company over the last few years, and in many ways they have essentially become like a second family to me. The experience of creating art with a group so genuinely dedicated to their work and to each other has not only redefined my ideas of what is important in life, but I also believe that everyone who walks though those doors cannot avoid taking with them some part of the Hope Stone essence of love, support, and cohesiveness, and spreading it to others when they leave the studio. Jane and her company continue to create amazing dance and art, and beyond this provide an incredible outreach program that has so obviously impacted the lives of countless children, many of whom are at-risk. Hope Stone is unique in its selfless mission to instill a love of music, dance, and art, as well as to nurture creativity and expressiveness.

Hope Stone is a lovely place. It's so artsy and friendly-everybody knows eachother. Jane is so cool for starting it and the teachers are very nice and helpful. I hadn't done dance since kindergarden, but I'm glad I started it up with Hope Stone. I love it! I've really learned a lot.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
meeting interesting people who are nice and experiencing something new.
Ways to make it better...
I had had previous (real) dancing experience beforehand and maybe started a little earlier.
One thing I'd also say is that...
sometimes, its hard to go for a 2 hour class on a school day. It conflicts with time occasionally.

Hope Stone is a wonderful place to dance, act, move, laugh, and cry - you can be your true self. The organization offers classes for children and adults (even seasoned adults) as well as providing rehearsal space and housing an awesome dance company.

Quality instruction reaching children who otherwise wouldn't be exposed to the arts is what I love about Hope Stone. The children are exposed to a creative environment that takes pride in teaching expression of one's self through dance. Jane's high energy level is definitely contageous!

Hope Stone provides an amazing space as well as amazing teachers to help transform children's lives! I have been witness to the maturing, increase in self-esteem, and overall happiness of the children that go to Hope Stone and work with the instructors there. The amount of love Jane and her staff have for these children and adolescents is incredible! Thanks so much Hope Stone for transforming my life!

For the past six months I have been working as an intern at Hope Stone Inc. and I feel so blessed to have found the opportunity to work with such a wonderful organization. At Hope Stone, the people are warm, caring, passionate and incredibly hard working. From the very first day I began helping out, I felt welcomed and enthusiastic to begin helping out. It's so wonderful to know that an organization like Hope Stone exists to bring the arts to kids in the Houston Area, while supporting dancers and creating/presenting beautiful dances with the company.

Jane Weiner had a vision to bring arts to both at risk children and the community at large. Hope Stone reaches out to young children as well as troubled teens. I was involved with the yoga program for teens. It was amazing to watch them come out of their shells. The classes benefit young children as well. But Hope Stone also performs original dance material, filling a much needed gap in Houston's arts horizon.Thank you Jane, and Anell, her amazing sidekick who makes it all happen.

Hope Stone Inc provides a wonderful atmosphere for young peaple to explore the arts in their after school program as well as providing an assortment of adult classes in dance and fitness. Hope Stone Inc also takes the art of dance to schools within the community. I especially appreciate their work with the young people at Krouse Children's Center. They are enriching their lives by introducing them to the art of dance. Keep up the good work and hope that you may grow to touch the lives of more young people in our community.
