I have attended yoga classes over the past several years at Hope Stone Inc., as well as attended ballet classes before that. The quality of instruction is excellent; the environment is always high quality; teachers and staff who work and volunteer there are professional AND fun to work with. Classes offered change over time, so there is a steady variety of classes to choose from...as well as the popular favorites that so many students enjoy.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Consistent growth and quality in all facets of their effort.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Helpful and enthusiastic.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Sprout wings. More outreach. 'Owner' (?) could take a vacation. Improve sound system for dance classes.

Ways to make it better...

They moved the studio closer to my house! (Driving in Houston is so dull.)

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Houston.

Hope Stone Inc provides a wonderful atmosphere for young peaple to explore the arts in their after school program as well as providing an assortment of adult classes in dance and fitness. Hope Stone Inc also takes the art of dance to schools within the community. I especially appreciate their work with the young people at Krouse Children's Center. They are enriching their lives by introducing them to the art of dance. Keep up the good work and hope that you may grow to touch the lives of more young people in our community.

Jane asked me to join the Hope Stone family about 12 years ago and here I sit today. That in itself should say enough!

The freshest place in Houston for dance, for kids, for movement, for theater, for ART! Excellence in all they do, and they hug you as well. Jane Weiner and the Hope Stone Dance Company are brillant each time they take the stage. The Kid's Play program is outstanding and supports at-risk kids as well.

I have taken ballet, modern dance, yamuna body rolling, pilates, and yoga at hope stone. It's a supportive community with great teachers who really care about you. I always look forward to attending classes there. The performances they put on are, of course, also wonderful. They bring so much to the Houston dance community.

My daughter is really enjoying her time at Hope Stone. Jane Weiner has developed a strong program to meet the children at their level. And in the end, pulls off a fantastic "show" so they all feel very good about their experience.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

they work hard to include everyone at their level.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

meet the needs of children all over the city who are forced into less than adequate after-school programs.

Hope Stone has personally brought so much art to my self and my family. Where can you go as a 40 year old who has not taken ballet in 24 years and be comfortable dancing with ex principal ballerinas? Hope Center... Where can a 12 year old boy go to learn photography and art, on a scholarship, and have a teacher that propels his self-esteem to the stars? Kids Play through Hope Stone...Who places on stage an unbelievable group of dancers and musicians, somehow highlighting each individual talent to create a masterpiece of art? Hope Stone. The organization , with Jane Weiner at the helm, is a true gem in the Texas art scene. Now that I live in London, it is one of the things about Houston I miss the most.

Jane Weiner of Hope Stone Inc. and Hope Stone Dance Company has been a source of inspiration for me personally and professionally. The residency program for emerging choreographers called Hopewerks gave me a chance to rediscover what I love and gave me the push I needed to branch out on my own. In addition, the intern program offers artists who work hard but cant always afford dance classes a great opportunity to work in exchange for affordable classes. Hope proves time and again to be a place I enjoy spending time at and challenging myself as an artist.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

produce long-impacting dance shows, develop innovative and long-lasting arts education, positively impact many children in the Houston area and offer coutless opportunitites for emerging artists.
