I recently adopted my Lab/Dane "big boy" from Homeward. I knew of them when they started out as Hooterville which I visited on and off during the years. All my pets have been rescue animals, but I adopted them all from the Humane Society. I used to drive past Homeward on my way to Costco. After my 15-year old dog died and I was finally ready to get another dog, I decided to go to Homeward. I first looked online and then went to see what pets they had. I was very impressed with the pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable staff. The facility is very well equipped and extremely clean. It is much larger and cleaner than the Humane Society. The fact that this is a "no kill" shelter puts it at the top of my list too. I also bought my giant kennel and bed from them mainly because I wanted to support them. I was so impressed that I have signed up to be a volunteer and begin my training next week. Please consider them when looking for your forever friend. You will not be disappointed.

We have adopted 2 dogs and a cat from Homeward Pet Adoption Center over the last 3 years. What was great was that the dogs came with free training classes. Tucker (a 7 month old lab at adoption) needed training and was very successful. We even continued into another session. He is now almost 3 years old and a multiple Blue Ribbon Winner in 4-H obedience and agility! His best buddy Koda was also a great fit for our family, the staff knew exactly what we needed. I highly recommend checking out their dogs and cats if you are ever looking for the perfect new pet.

We recently lost an older cat to kidney disease and a young cat to FIP. We visited Homeward Pet not sure if we were ready for a new companion or not. They were very sympathetic and introduced us to the felines they had available. No pressure. A senior kitty caught our attention but we were hesitant due to our recent loss. After a second visit where the staff gave us a lot of information about the kitty's past and current health, we decided to adopt her. We are very glad we did. She is fitting right in. And we got a discount for adopting a senior cat.

I had my first experience 16 years ago back when they were Hooterville Safe Haus and I was looking for a new cat companion. Since then I've visited them three more times as my cat household has changed, and each time I am impressed by the care and common sense they use in matching people with the cats in their care. Everyone I've ever met there really listens to you and asks smart questions about your household situation. I've been able to go back to them for follow-up advice, and always was welcomed and treated with respect; never made to feel "less-than" for asking questions like some other local groups. There are many animal rescue groups in this area, but Homeward Pet is the only one I recommend when people tell me they are ready for a pet companion. They care about the results and do their best to understand the needs of the animals they take under their responsibility.

i have been a cat foster volunteer for a couple of years and know first hand that the staff is caring and hard working. The facility is always clean and the staff is positive eventhough their work is sometimes very emotionally stressfull. I have also adopted two hard to place animals- a black cat and a senior dog. thanks to them, i have two very loving and wonderful pets! thank you Homeward Pets for not giving up on these two little guys and all the other critters that come to you for help.

We had been searching for a new family friend after our lab passed away and found a wonderful new friend in the dog we adopted. The staff were patient, and understood that we needed to be very sure on the pet dog since this is a lifetime commitment! What a great agency and how supportive! Keep up the great work!

I was a bit perplexed when I had to choose my "role" for this review because as a kitten foster home on the east side of the mountains I really don't fit in to any of the categories I had to choose from. I am a volunteer with Kittitas County Friends of Animals, we are a network of volunteers who foster cats, dogs and other pets to be rehomed, many of these are feral cats that we trap, neuter & release, most of which are placed in barn homes. Because we are a rural community and also have a large population of College students we seem to end up with a lot of kittens every spring and fall. Many of these are babies that need bottle feeding but we also end up with quite a few that are close to the age of being able to re-home. Homeward Pet steps up to the plate for us and takes quite a few of our adoptable kittens, placing them in loving homes. I don't know what we would do without them. I had the opportunity to visit their facility recently and see a momma and six of her seven kittens that I had fostered. Homeward Pet had just received them less than a week before my visit and one of the kittens had already been adopted. Homeward pet is a beautiful facililty with friendly staff and volunteers who treat all of the dogs and cats in their care with the love and respect they so deserve. I truly admire the work they do and am thankful that they are there for those of us on both ends of the adoption chain.

My husband and I went to Homeward Pet looking for a feline companion for our 1.5 year old kitty, whom we'd adopted from a different shelter. That shelter had an "average" experience - a staff that's helpful but not necessarily friendly, and knowledgeable but not big on guiding adopters to the perfect pet - sort of what I expected when visiting a shelter. When we were greeted by a volunteer the moment we walked in Homeward Pet's doors, I realized we were not going to get the "typical" shelter experience. Within a few minutes, we had the necessary introduction paperwork that allowed us to describe the type of pet we were looking for and explain that we had a cat at home. Before we could even finish the paperwork, an adaption adviser introduced herself and worked exclusively with us for almost 2 hours, even when another family came in looking to adopt, to help us meet all the potential kitty candidates and listened as we described our resident cat and our lifestyle to make sure our new kitty would be a perfect match. She even talked us through the best way to introduce two cats. I was floored by the amazing staff and volunteers; while we were there, some volunteers were cleaning the cat rooms and playing with the cats and these volunteers were not afraid to let us know what they had noticed about the cats we were looking at. We brought our 7 month old kitten home about 3 weeks ago, and thanks to all the guidance from Homeward Pet staff and volunteers, our kitties have adjusted to each other wonderfully and are now residing happily together. I'd like to mention the facilities - everything is clean, the litter doesn't smell, the environment is calm, the cats each have their own enrichment toys in their rooms, and Homeward Pet keeps its adoptable dogs far enough away from the cat room that you can't hear the dogs barking. My husband and I were very impressed with Homeward Pet; we'll definitely visit Homeward Pet first if we ever look to adopt again and I have already recommended Homeward Pet to several of my friends who are looking for new furry family members.

I have been a long time donor to Homeward Pets, ever since they started as Hooterville Pets at Country Village. I adopted my most recent new cat-child, Cheeto from Homeward Pets in March 2012 and the experience was wonderful. It was my first time visiting their beautiful new facility in Woodinville which was built with the animal's welfare in mind. I took Cheeto to the vet within the first week which is what is recommended and my vet was very impressed with the detail of his medical records. I highly recommend Homeward Pets to anyone that is considering adopting an animal.

They truly want to make sure that each pet placed has reached their forever home. We adopted our dog Rudy from them a little over 2 years ago & can't imagine our lives without him. Everyone that we interacted with was kind and had both the pet and the peoples best interest in mind. They took a lot of time and made sure we had the right match for us. Will definitely come back when the time is right.
