As a volunteer, I see the residents on a weekly basis. They are learning and growing, acquiring new skills to help them cope. I believe in the program and the staff. And I believe in the girls- they are strong and only growing stronger.
I was lucky enough to attend the annual Christmas party and was moved by the outpouring of love from the community. I know the residents were deeply touched as well. It was incredible to witness! That support is so crucial moving forward...

What do you say about a group of amazing women and an amazing program that gave my Daughter the tools to not only turn her life around, but gave her the confidenct to believe that she could and will accomplish anything she sets her mind to. God placed my Daughter at the right place at the right time and has turned her mess into a message to others, that they too can overcome any obstacle placed in thier way. There is a sparkle in my Daughters eye now and a I'm finally seeing the woman that I always knew was there, just screaming to come out. Thank You is not enough, I Love You Homecoming is not enough, God Bless You is only beginning to scratch the surface, I will Thank God each and everyday for Homecoming!!

I began my journey at homecoming with only a little bit of willingness. The staff took that inkling of hope and helped me turn it into something great. I walked into Homecoming a broken woman, and after 9 months, graduated a strong, hopeful, and responsible member of society. Because of the program and staff at Homecoming I have gained personal belief in myself, integrity, and the ability to share my experience, strength, and hope with new residents in the program. I will never be able to repay Homecoming for the gift they have given me. Not only have they helped to save my life, they helped me shape a new life in recovery. I have dreams and goals today. I am now blessed enough to be a member of the staff at Homecoming and have the gift of being able to share the tools I have learned with new women coming into the program. This program does not only treat a person’s addiction, it treats the disease. The many components of this program offer a road to success for any person suffering from substance abuse and alcoholism. Homecoming has helped set me up on my path and given me the tools to stay on track. When you graduate Homecoming, the program is still there in the form of aftercare, staff support, and the alumni organization. This was a life changing experience, one that I will forever be grateful for.

I am writing this in hopes of helping women who suffer from alcohol and/or substance abuse. I was a resident for 6 months in 2007. Today I credit my recovery to Homecoming Project. Without them I don't think I would have been able to recover and become a good mother, daughter, and friend. The staff at Homecoming are the best there is in showing women who suffer how to manage their new lives in recovery. I often think about all of the valuable lessons and education that I recieved from this truely remarkable program. They helped me find my character defects and gave me tools to cope with problems. They cared about ME and gave 100% of their time and resources to provide their residents with the best possible education and relapse prevention and all around life skills. I had lost custody of my two young children and today I have custody of them which I had to earn back through good living. I was 38 years old and I didn't know how to function as a mother or even as a human. Homecoming gave me all of those abilities and more. I learned how to be a productive member in society and I am very grateful for the experience I have from the help Homecoming Project has available. If you want to get better this is the place to go. I am currently working full time, I just got my 1st house which I am so grateful for. I am back in college finishing up my degree, I dropped out of college 25 years ago and because of the foundation in recovery I have recieved I am back and getting excellent grades! Please contact Homecoming Project if you need help!!! You will not regret it.

I was not the actual client of Homecoming, but my daughter was. She came into the program after doing rehab in Virginia, and living in Florida for a little over a year. The difference at Homecoming was evident, and my daughter flourished there. She found the help and counseling there that moved her to where she is today. She also gained friends there that she still has and who also flourished when they were there. Homecoming does not "coddle" the girls, but it also does not put up with any nonsense. It is the perfect blend of love and guidance, with a smidge of tough love thrown in there. I would HIGHLY recommend Homecoming to anyone, young or old, who is trying to stop the world of using drugs and alcohol, and to become an integrate member of society.

I personally saw the results in my own child from being there. She changed after being there, and in a most positive way. She had been in other places and it was not the same. Homecoming is just that...a place for girls who need help to come home.

Not only am I an employee of Homecoming Project but I am graduate of the program as well. I cannot tell you of the gratitude that I have for such an awesome place. They were there for me when I was not capable of helping or loving myself. It has been instilled in me to give back to the women as it was given to me. Thank you Homecoming. Lisa Bryson

I work with the Director of this organization and she puts much time and effort into Homecoming. This organization has helped many women overcome drug and alchohol abuse and has helped many women start their new life. This organization will start them off with a job, a home, a checking account, everything they need to gain independence and a new start to a new life. The director has done a fantastic job in maintaining the residence and the organization going.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Going on a tour throughout the facility and seeing the amount of women who have been able to go out on their own and are able to get their own house and job.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Being able to see the start to finish for these women, and to see the outcome for the women and the satisfacation they get when they finish the programk.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
So kind hearted and totally put their hearts into the organization. They apply themselves to the program and to the women.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
do so much with that money. Housing, could be a big one, it could help the organization with getting another facility, which it needs, because I feel that Homecoming is becoming quite big, because it is such a great organization.

It’s been almost 4 years since I was dropped off in front of Homecoming Project in tears, completely hopeless. I had absolutely no desire to live in a halfway house but I had nowhere else to turn. Who would have thought that it would end up being the most positive life changing experience I’ve ever had. Homecoming taught me how to live life sober no matter how hard it gets. I have definitely struggled along the way but I can say that I am a completely different person. Even without drugs and alcohol something else needs to change. Homecoming is where I learned the tools to find happiness on the inside. I grew up in that house and will forever look at life in a different way. Most importantly even 3 years later the director of Homecoming has never given up and continues to help me stay on the right path! Thank God for that place, it has saved a lot of lives.

I came to Homecoming in April of 2004.I could not believe my eyes when i pulled up to the place! Two houses on cinder blocks in the middle of no where, and i was suppose to get my life togethor here. Frankly I was a bit hesitant,I did not see how that was going to happen!! When i walked in i seen 10 other women, two to a room, and one bathroom for us all to share! I seen more trouble then help! As I began to talk to the staff and become a part of the house with my own duties and responsibilities there, I finally, for the first time in my life felt like I belonged some where! They taught me to respect myself , they gave me courage and hope and they taught me what inner strength was really about! They helped me to trust myself and other people again, they made life seem worth living. Finally, i seen a light and a beginning to a whole new life for myself! I was a resident for 7 months before graduating the program. I was given the oppurtunity to work as an employee and give back to the new girls what was so freely given to me. They had faith and trust in me, I was given the responsibility of office manager. They even let me handle money!!! I was sure it was a set up!(ha,ha) They trusted me and made me feel like a real human being for the first time in my life!! Today , 7 years later, I am married to a wonderful man of 2 yrs., I have a relationship with my daughter, i am actually being her mom and participating in her life. I have two wonderful grandsons and a grand-daughter on the way whose lives I can actually be a part of! I have a wonderful 15 year old step-daughter who looks up to me and tries to mimmick her life to be like mine, she respects me! Who would have thought! I am so grateful to Homecoming. The staff is great ! Robin and Jerry taught me more about recovery , trust, love, and how to just show up than any life experience I think I could have had or will have. Without homecoming i wouldn't be where i am today or who I am today!! Thank you to Homecoming and all the staff and board members who continue to offer constructive criticism, routine and guidance to myself and future homecoming residents!! May God Bless You All!!

I walked into the doors of Homecoming on Feb 8th, 2006. I’ll be honest, I didn’t think that place was for me but I didn’t really have a whole lot of options. There I was in the middle of some hick town in a house on cinder blocks with ten other women and one bathroom. Any girl’s dream! Something happened to me. I almost felt relieved that I finally had rules. Someone was finally telling me what to do. I had no idea how to live let alone live sober. I’m fortunate that I had a support network right in the house. In July of 2006, Homecoming was able to move into a larger home in Bel Air. I was so excited to be a part of the transition from one house to another.I feel privliged also because I would consider myself one of the guinea pigs who helped shape their current program. It has come so far in the last three years and I'm so proud to say that I came from Homecoming. Homecoming introduced me to AA. They helped me learn how to put myself on a healthy routine. They provided a safe place for me to get back on my feet again. I spent nine months in that house. I couldn’t wait to get out of there! Now I wish I could be back there because life is not as simple anymore. I’ve been out of the house since September of 2006. I’ve been sober for 4 years and 4 months.I have the same job that I had when I was in the house. I went from being a counter person to being the salon manager.I live in a home with my boyfriend of three years in Abingdon. The most ironic part is that I live next door to where the old Homecoming houses were. Everyday I look out over my deck and see the empty lot where my life began. I sponsor women in the program and I have a home group. I pay my bills on my own. I’m in school part time at Harford Community. I have health insurance through my work. I have a savings account with money in it. I show up for people in my life today. I’m happy. I’m healthy. I’m honest, most of the time! I love myself today. I’m positive that none of this would have been possible without AA, God and the staff at Homecoming. Their program is wonderful. There is nothing I would change one bit.
