I have had my two sons involved in Home Court NW for the last five years. Although they have been a huge help in getting them to the next level for there basketball skills it is all of the other aspects they teach that I find so important. At home Court they learn to be respectful, helpful and polite. They work on leadership skills and how to come together as a part of a team. The organization is extremely well run and is a great part of the overall community in Woodinville. All of the coaches are energetic and knowledgable. My kids always look forward to any new clinics they can attend. Home Court also runs seminars for coaches to help them have the proper perspective on what helps kids grow in a safe and enjoyable environment. All of the families and kids I have talked to always have great things to say about the life lessons there kids have picked up from Home Court. We are a much richer community with nonprofit organizations like Home Court in Woodinville.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Being involved in coaching seminars they have put on for youth coaches and also for parents of athletes.

Home Court is by far the best! My son is in the 8th grade and has been doing programs at Home Court for 8 years. Home court takes each child where they are and brings them to the next level. They do it in a way that is respectful, positive and fun! I don't think I can say that about other sports programs we have done in the past. HOme court wants your child to get better and improve in their basketball skills, but more importantly they care about your son or daughter being a better person in society. My husband say our son is a better basketball player because of what he has learned at Home court over the years and I say he is a better person because of what he has learned at Home Court over the years. What is also impressive to me about Home Court is that my son has had some of the same coaches for the last 8 years. I think Pat, Rob , Danny and Stevie were there for my sons first Fun Dees program at HC when he was in the 1st grade. I think that says a lot about an organization! My son says he wants to be a coach at Home Court someday. I think it's because all the coaches are such great role models and he has always had a positive experience there. Kids leave Home Court happy and feeling good about themselves. We can't say enough about Home Court...we greatly appreciate all they have done for us over the years. Thank you Home Court for all you do! You sure make a difference.

My son has done many of the programs over the years, from the skill building clinics to the leagues. The tools he has come away with from Homecourt have not only taken him far with basketball(making his school teams)but have also built confidence in his roles at school. The positive environment is truely an asset! The whole staff at homecourt are Top Notch, great examples in teaching and developing a well rounded player on the court and off.

Our son and daughter have participated in various programs at Home Court, from a 2-day clinic to a winter league. The facilites are wonderful, but more importantly, the staff/coaches are first-rate. The focus on the fundamentals while making it fun made it an excellent experience for us all.

My sons have participated in many programs that Home Court has offered. The facilities are great and well-maintained. Home Court emphasizes the fundamentals of basketball and then as the players become more experienced, fine tunes further skills such as passing, decision-making, rebounding and shooting. The Winter League offers equitable playing time during games, so all players get on court playing experience. The coaches are all very professional and excellent role models. Home Court even allows the older participants a chance to volunteer as coaches to the younger children. The program at Home Court is well-rounded.

The experience we have had with the Homecourt program has been, and continues to be, overwhelmingly positive. We wanted our 6th grade son (a) to learn solid, fundamental basketball skills in a positive, yet stimulating environment, (b) to have the opportunity to be part of a team, and (c) to have the opportunity to develop peer relationships. We also wanted him to be coached and taught from people who have a solid understanding of basketball. Homecourt has exceeded our expectations. Our son, who had no prior basketball experience coming to Homecourt, has more confidence than we have ever seen. He isn’t afraid to try new moves. He isn’t afraid to fail because every mistake he makes has a positive aspect and is considered a learning opportunity. Because of this approach, his self-confidence level has been significantly elevated. The director and the coaches are excellent communicators and facilitators. We appreciate the fact that they take extra time to communicate with each parent about his/her child’s progress. We look forward to being involved in Homecourt for many years. THEY KNOW THEIR STUFF 

The life lessons, the basketball skills, the professionalism and attitudes are all top notch. I am extremely impressed with the facilities and all people involved from the top leaders to the student volunteers.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the level of enthusiasm and professionalism.

students with great service oriented attitudes.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

have a significant impact on the boader community (which by the way it does at a more local level).

Ways to make it better...

it had a broader geographic reach.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

resources, time, and pressures of "select" programs that capture kids attention at too young of an age.

One thing I'd also say is that...

by perhaps sharing the vision and mission more broadly may capture a larger audience.

This is a great environment for kids. They are taught sportmanship and basketball. The coaches and staff are great with the kids, it is about growing up for all. I also like the parents, generally a great positive crowd and generally discouraged from sideline coaching, something that mars many youth sports programs.I like having kids work on their own relationship with coaches/refs/staff. We have participated in the development programs as well as league. Since I put a five start I want to include that logistics, communication, facility are all great too.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

excellent, down to earth to communicate with kids, fun time/serious time balanced. I think the young coaches and kids who stick aroung the area will have many remember that kid/coach in years to come.

Our two boys have been involved with basketball programs through HomeCourt for many years. It is the only sports program I know that consistently places the emphasis first on developing character and sportsmanship. The quality of instruction in the various aspects of basketball is also excellent. HomeCourt coaches are consistently top-notch, and the facility and programs are a true asset to our community.

Ways to make it better...

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

surviving in our area where there is much competition between different youth sports programs.

Greg has been involved with HomeCourt or the precursor to HomeCourt for 9 years, starting in 2nd grade and now as a junior in HS. Because Home Court has been a consistent influence for him for so long during this very important period in his life, it has played almost a supplementary parental role, and we never worried about the values that were being instilled in him there. In fact, we feel extremely lucky to have found the Home Court program, which wasn't just a place for the kids to go to compete athletically, but was consciously designed to help them develop as well-rounded members of society in the process. We have no doubt that he will be a happier, more complete person having spent these years at HomeCourt. There have been many other positive developments, some of which are: basketball fundamentals, social skills in the young kids, self-confidence, leadership skills, and friendships with other kids in the area.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

always exceedingly well trained, top-notch individuals who we were happy to have influencing our son.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

continue the fine work it is doing, and increase participation with more scholarship students.
