The mission of Home Builders Care Foundation, the charitable construction organization of the Maryland-National Capital Building Industry Association, is to complete construction projects, with particular focus on shelter-related projects, by leveraging the industry’s specialized building construction skills and by collaborating with existing community service providers serving the homeless and other at-risk populations.
In 2011, we undertook over 9 comprehensive renovation projects with a total construction value over $500K. Our charitable construction efforts helped improve housing facilities for low-income seniors, autistic adults, formerly homeless families, runaway and at-risk youth, a gold star mother, and victims of HIV/AIDS. Over $350K in construction costs were saved with our involvement. Savings can now be applied to direct social services for clients of our partnering agencies.

Reviews for Home Builders Care Foundation, Inc.
Home Builders Care Foundation takes great pride in working with local governments and non-profits to provide shelter to disadvantaged people in need. As a volunteer, I can attest to the effort that goes in to picking projects and following them through to completion -- always keeping in mind the tremendous need for beds and shelter. We call on the building industry to donate materials, labor and most importantly their time. The dollars that the organization raises are stretched many times over by the generosity of others.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
increasing the shelter for the homeless, battered women, and providing temporary shelter for young people.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
increase the publicity so as to increase donations.
