HAF is a unique organization that tackles issues that are extremely important not only for Hindus, but for all Americans. The people are sincere and their efforts are truly for the betterment of the entire country, not just a select group.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the recognition of non-Indians within the Hindu community.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

increase the public's awareness of the excellent work they do.

I first became active with the Hindu American Foundation back in 2006, when I was invited to join them at their Annual DC Legislative Day, advocating for a wide range of Hindu American issues in congressional and governmental offices. Through that, I learned the power of advocacy and began to understand how important it was to have sustained interaction with policy-makers so that they understood your viewpoint on any issue.

HAF has a professional staff along with a national team of volunteers (including myself) that has created a fledging institution that can continually advocate for Hindus in America, instead of relying on ad-hoc efforts. It is definitely worth of support.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

doing outreach efforts to congressional offices, and government bodies. HAF's professionally produced materials and full-time staff gave me the information and training I needed to successfully advocate issues with them.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

figure out how to get more people my age to contribute!

More feedback...

What the Hindu American Foundation does will benefit not only those Hindus in America, but ultimately those all over the world.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I'd say every time someone says "thank you" for HAF speaking on behalf of them.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

say that their annual budget needs to increase so that they can have the bandwidth to take on more projects. Donations are key for any non-profit organization and I feel HAF could do much more if given the opportunity.
