I have worked with this ministry for about 1 year. It is an important cause and I know that I am contibuting to the feeding of people in need. My regular duties are to send mailouts. This gets the word out about this ministry. My work allows others to receive updates abut us.

We need more volunteers.
I answer the phones and take messages. I am also very flexable in doing whatever needs to be done around the office in order to help get food to those in need. I started in this ministry helping pack up boxes of food for the needy which was very rewarding being able to help others and also work with a number of other fine people who give of their time.

We need more volunteers for the work here is increasing.
I have been affiliated with Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries for nine years total. I have seen the beginning of the ministry and look at what it has become. It is phenominal. I have been Volunteer Coordinator, liaison to the churches and liaison to the families needing food. When I started delivering boxes of food, there were just over a hundred families recceiving help. There are now 2829 families in and around Kendall County receiving help. Everything is done in the name of Christ and there is never a fee or charge for anything. I have worked with several different non-profit agencies and this is by far the most rewarding.

It is so wonderful to be in a place where prayer can break out at any given moment. The "haves" work shoulder-to-shoulder with people who have literally slept under bridges. The lives of the families have improved, not just by helping them financially, but there have been several that have come to know the Lord (some from atrocious situations).

i would invite people more closer to my age.
This was my first experience volunteering at HCDB. I am absolutely overwhelmed at the need for something as simple as food for so many people. My sons who are 14 and 11 helped to fill boxes of food for Thanksgiving. It was an incredible experience. We even just emptied the trash. HCDB appears to be efficiently run and meeting an overwhelming need in this community.
