I have worked with HPCT and Jennifer Blevins for the past 9 years and have enjoyed every aspect of it. Jennifer's knowledge, skill, and love for theatre and the lives that are touched by it is what makes HPCT stand apart. I don't see a lot of the "diva" mentality that can sometimes come with community shows when the regulars step in. It is a wonderful family atmosphere, and I consider the people I've met through HPCT to be my dearest and closest friends. As executive director for HPCT, Jennifer has created a wonderful and truly skilled creative staff around her. Michael Dougherty and Bobby Bodford are great musical and show directors respectively and bring out more in each person than they thought they had. HPCT is truly a wonderul non-profit and a huge assett to our community.

I have worked with many community theatre groups in the Piedmont and no where have I been made to feel more welcome and appreciated. Jennifer Blevins, the Executive Director, is a consummate professional. Never have I been aware of any problems with a production apart from the usual requests for help to locate a needed prop, costume piece or set dressing. I've watched families come and audition for shows time and time again. I've watched the younger volunteers grow and mature under Jennifer's guidance. I've never encountered "diva" like egos with anyone from the director down to the sound guy. It is truly a joy every time I walk into the rehearsal hall and see Jennifer, Bobby, Michael and Michael. It's like coming home.

The Great!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

working with such a diverse and talented group of people.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

committed professionals who understand the benefits the arts brings to a community and the concerns related to running a not-for-profit in good and, more recently, trying financial times.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

improve its rehearsal space and hold more than four performances of any production.

High Point Community Theatre is a family of talented, creative, welcoming and giving people. Everyone involved from production staff, cast members and backstage crew has given me and others opportunities to grow personally and creatively in terms of increased confidence and knowledge of the theatre craft as well as musically and as an actor. I have had the privilege of performing in eight shows with this wonderful group. High Point Community Theatre has proven to be a place of unconditional welcome and support for all involved. I will always be grateful to continue to be a part of this theatre family.
