I have been attempting to volunteer with HeroBox for about nine months. I have contacted HeroBox multiple times via their website, using their specific links, to volunteer my services, and to inquire about how to participate. Every inquiry went unanswered. I never heard from HeroBox until about two days ago when I seem to have suddenly made their mailing list. I know this sounds harsh, but the instructions directly to the right of this data field specifically tell me to "be honest and candid." It prompts me to "provide details and specific examples." If HeroBox needs someone to volunteer to answer emails, I am willing to do that. I'm just not sure how long I should knock on the door. Thank you for this opportunity to share.

I have done this for four months. It is tremendously rewarding and makes me feel like I am doing something special for someone. When Kyle sends me an e-mail thanking me it's a real feel good feeling. It makes me sad that they are doing so much for our country and other countries and have so little! I think this is a tremendous concept and I aplaud those that started it. The only negative from my standpoint is dealing with the post office!!

I think this is a great organization! i signed up to send packages, and it has been over 6 months and no one has contacted me to start helping our troops. If i could start sending packages to our troops i would rate Herobox 5 stars

I have received personal satisfaction knowing I am helping our troops overseas. I have family members in the military and know that sometimes the "little luxuries" are hard to come by, and sometimes just the basics!

I found out about this organization through a Facebook post, which I also reposted for others to see/join. I was able to send care packages to a female soldier stationed in Iraq over the holidays. Sending a HeroBox is a wonderful way to show your appreciation for the people serving our country overseas. I did have email contact with my adopted solider and was able to send her various things that she wanted as well as general items that are always needed.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Being able to make a soldier's tour a little easier by sending them the comforts of home. I also liked having personal contact with my adopted Hero.

My mom and I have wanted to help out our soldiers in some way for a while now, she stumbled upon Herobox.org one day and we both decided to join. She had the opportunity to help out 2 female soldiers and I have had the opportunity to help out 2 male soldiers. What an awesome experience it is. The first one I had, I had no contact with and there were no items listed to send to him so I wasn't sure what to do but send over what I could for a couple months to help him out..Any little bit helps them! The next soldier I have had, I have been able to stay in contact with through email. It's really neat to hear the impact the boxes and letters made on him. Its about the neatest thing I have ever had the opportunity to be involved in. During Christmas is their hardest time over in Iraq so I sent over a herobox full of christmas gifts wrapped and some in a stocking. Christmas C.D.,Santa Hat, Card Games, Christmas LED Lights, all sorts of other things, They appreciated someone would really want to take the time to do that..I'm so thankful to Herobox for letting people like my mom and I help out the soldiers. There is no greater feeling when you hear back from them on how much of an impact you made on them!

How awesome it is to help out our soldiers, a simple care package, letter or email can mean so much to them over there! It's so awesome to finally have a place where you can adopt a soldier for a few months and help them out! Thank God for Herobox!!

I had email or contact with some of the soldiers, to make sure I could send them the right things that they need.

Discovered at a local air-show, signed up to sponsor a soldier for 6 months. My daughter got a kick out of shopping for him, and he went to a lot of trouble to acknowledge our support. A very rewarding experience for us, and deserved support for our troops!

I HEARD A RADIO ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT HEROBOX, I DECIDED TO VISIT THE WEBSITE, MY FAMILY LIKED WHAT WE SAW ABOUT HELPING OUR SOLDIERS SO TOGETHER WE DECIDED ON A FEMALE SOLDIER AND THE LENGTH OF OUR ADOPTION...AFTER WE SENT A FEW PACKAGES TO OUR CRYSTAL WE DECIDED TO ADOPT HER FOR AN EXTENDED TIME.

The Great!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

MEETING CRYSTAL AND READING HER BLOGS/NEWSLETTERS ABOUT IRAQ

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

STAFF IS SO FRIENDLY, THEY WERE SO HAPPY THAT WE DECIDED TO EXTEND OUR ADOPTION OF CRYSTAL

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

SEND CARE PACKAGES TO EVERY SOLDIER AND ENLIGHTEN THEIR LIVES TO SHOW THEM HOW MUCH PEOPLE DO CARE

Ways to make it better...

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

FINDING MORE PEOPLE WILLING TO ADOPT A SOLDIER AND SPEND A LITTLE MONEY, WE AVERAGE SPENDING $20 PER MONTH ON OUR CRYSTAL

One thing I'd also say is that...

THE PEOPLE AT HEROBOX WERE SO NICE WHEN I ASKED IF WE COULD EXTEND OUR ADOPTION WITH CRYSTAL...I HAVE ENJOYED SENDING EMAILS TO HER AND READING HER BLOGS/NEWSLETTERS..WE HAVE HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH HEROBOX

I've only been sending boxes for two months now and the only thing I don't enjoy is Saturday at the post office! The solider I have adopted is wonderful. He's told be all about his wife and family and how they came to be and I feel prevledged to know him. This is an excellent program and people who see me sending a Hero Box in the post office ask about what I am doing and I happily share, so there should be more people joining. I'm in the process of trying to get my office and my mother's school involved. I would sugeest more advertising to get more volunteers. I can so just so much with workd of mouth, but if you come up with some car magnets, I would proudly display them.

HeroBox was the perfect fit for our charity program this year. They delivered on their promise to provide to our troops the items and monetary donations we sent. I would gladly donate to HeroBox in the future.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The ease of making my doantion. I gathered cash and 160 lbs of items for our troops. The fine people of HeroBox asked that I just send them the items and they would handle the rest. Great Job
