Heritage Retreats is an experience which can benefit Jews of all levels of religious observence. On my retreat were a few very secular Jews, a number of very religious Jews and - like me - many in the middle. The program is very respectful of everyone's preferences while maintaining the traditions such as shabbat and Kosher. It was a very educational experience which - most importantly - taught me a lot about myself and my short, medium and longer term spiritual goals. What made it easy for me to learn and absorb was that it was put out there for me to digest and not forced down my throat. Lastly (and importantly) it was a fun time playing sports, taking trips, socializing and just having some leisure away from my busy schedule as a lawyer.

This was one of the most memorable and meaningful experiences of my life. Connecting with other Jewish professionals in a posh, comfortable, environment which provided exhilerating physical and intellectual stimulation created a unique experience I will never forget. All supervising Rabbis are excellent and knowledgeable teachers, and the physical activity was extremely enjoyable but never too intense. Even the food was excellent.

This amazing program provides a great way for Jewish collge students to learn about their heritage in a beautiful setting. The staff does a great job of providing a five star resort-like atmosphere where students of all backgrounds can relax and enjoy with great food, sports, activities, and classes. The lectures are thought-provoking, insightful, and interesting all while not pushing a particular point of view. I left there feeling a tremendous sense of connection with my Jewish heritage as well as a deep insight into my own life's meaning.

I had a great experience with the program, one that far exceeded my expectations. It was a lot of fun, and i got to meet and hang out with some really great guys. They bring some very nice and smart lecturers, and the talks are very stimulating. I didn't know what to expect about this aspect of the program going in, thinking that it might be a bit preachy. But i found it to be very interesting and accessible, and the lectures didn't at all dominate the program, but rather complimented it. I would definitely recommend heritage retreats to anyone. It gave me an opportunity an opportunity to experience Judaism, socially, intellectually and spiritually. You meet and connect with people who share your background and at the same time learn some stuff about that background. It strengthened my Jewish identity while giving me a very fun and memorable experience.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

how it really gave me an opportunity to connect with my jewish background in a way that i would not have been able to experience otherwise.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

really reach out to a lot of people who have become disconnected from they're jewish identities and background.

This is a wonderful program. A unique opportunity for college students to delve into their rich past, which will hereafter help them make coherent decisions in all facets of their lives. The program had a deep impact upon my identity. I want to briefly speak about my friend who came along on the program as well. A good person, who was drifting through life, unable to make the requisite decisions to set his life on a straight course was literally transformed by this program. The change was breathtaking. Thank you Heritage Retreats.

Before going to the program I've already had a religious education from home, eventhough the program was a inspiration for me to keep doing what I was already doing and thaught me that we always have to do more showing me the meaningful of observing the religion and the importance of details that make all difference. I met wonderful girls who in general hadn't have a religious education and came to ask questions, learn and grow. The lectures were fantastic, bringing us general issues from Judaism also the importance and meaning of them. Furthermore the teachers and tutors were always opened to answer our questions and respected each one of us including our education and religious level, showing us the beauty of Judaism and the wonderful things that it have to offer and accomplish in our lives.

Being involved with Heritage Retreats for many years now has enhanced my love for the Jewish people. Watching all types of Jews come together in a non-judgemental, learning and growning environment makes you realize what is really important in life. The program allowed me to meet individuals and establish relationships that i would never have a chance to do otherwise. What could be more meaningful than woman coming together, taking time out of their busy lives to learn and discuss Torah true yedishkeit. Thank you Heritage Retreats for this life altering experience.

As a tutor on Heritage Retreats I had the opportunity to come in contact with a wide range of amazing jews from all over the country and had the pleasure of working with an incredible staff. The setting is always just right, providing a comfortable atmosphere where participants can learn more about their Jewish heritage from world renowned personalities and from a staff of tutors who are more like friends than anything else. As a tutor I have kept in touch with many of the students from the program and continue to be inspired by their willingness to grow and how they have taken what they have gained on Heritage Retreats and made an effort to apply it to their everyday lives. I can honestly say that the moments of inspiration and the relationships I have made on Heritage Retreats are ones that I cherish and will take with me for many years to come.

I went on Heritage quite a while ago, but the experience has stayed with me ever since. Never have I met such amazing down to earth people. The tutors have carried me through my journey and discovery of judaism, and were always there whenever I had questions or needed someone to talk to. Some of them have remained my closest friends till today. Heritage is doing something right, and I really hope that they can continue their much needed programming. Thank you so much for everything!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the gorgeous setting at the circle K ranch, the rich and varied programming, and the honest and open staff and tutors.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

incredible. The connection between the tutors and participants was indescribable. They were down to earth, easy to talk to, and were able to relate to each of us.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

reach the heavens and back. If Heritage had unlimited money, it could touch so many lives and impact so many more people. I owe a tremendous amount to Heritage, and I wish more people could experience what I did.

I've gained tremendously from my experiences at Heritage Retreats. My life has been inspired and enriched by the students, volunteers and teachers I've met. I was amazed at the open-mindedness and courage the students displayed in their willingness to challenge their previous convictions about Judaism. They chose to spend a summer or winter break by taking classes, often without friends, instead of taking a vacation. They didn't flinch from the difficult task of examining their lives and determining what kind of positive changes they could make. I only hope to emulate their example in some way.
